A Mommy Moment
We were talking about online communities and how *some* teenagers can be really annoying and that on the one hand, adults didn't like to feel they had to watch their words or, worse, babysit but on the other hand, it's not like kids suddenly turn 18 and maturity flips on like a light bulb over their heads.
I was already pretty happy just about having this conversation, to be honest, but then he told me how glad he was that I'd banned him from using l33tspeak when he first started chatting online so that he didn't have to learn the hard way.
HEY! DID YOU ALL SEE THAT? MY FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD THINKS I DID SOMETHING RIGHT!
Then he told me about how sometimes he lies about his age online and I had to beat him. You win some, you lose some.
