Heath Ledger

I can't believe he's gone. Many of my online and rt friends are expressing this thought tonight. We didn't personally know him or anything, we just enjoyed watching him in movies. He was young enough to be one of my kids, still I could not help but notice his good looks and boyish charm when I first saw him in the move "The Patriot". I cried when his character died in that movie. He was the good, the nearly innocent, at least in that movie.

The next movie I saw him in, A Knights Tale. I loved this movie though it was a bit corny with the modern music in the times of castles and Kings when jousting was the spot people loved instead of football. Now that was a contact sport! I remember thinking, he's young enough to be my son, but I'd do him! I know, dirty old woman huh?!

Then came a few more movies but the next big one, and the one he will most likely be remembered most for was Brokeback Mountain. I loved this movie, far more than I thought I would. I was looking forward to the new Batman movie, with him as the Joker, but now, I'm just not sure if I can watch, knowing he's gone. Too young, far too young. I hope and pray it was accidental like the police are leaning towards. He had a beautiful 2 year old girl. So much to live for.

I feel so badly for his family, for her. Unfortunately, these young people don't realize they are not indestructible. Only those of us that have lived to be older, have seen too many people gone too early, realize it. Perhaps they really are the lucky ones, for we will always remember them as they were, young, so full of promise.

Rest in peach Heath, you will be missed and thought of fondly by those that knew you best and by those of us that simply enjoyed watching your films.
