Listening Love: St. Vincent
Click to viewSt. Vincent is one of those artists I heard a lot about - she was part of Sufjan Stevens' traveling band on his Illinoise tour - but hadn't managed to get into her until I listened to her on the plane while flying to Houston. Her CD, Marry Me, is a mix of airy vocals, self-assured rhythm, and thoughtful lyrics. She contemplates relationships, salvation, self-destruction all to the beat of drums.
