Indiana doesn't seem to have a specific weather pattern: it's simply whatever nature feels like. Today it feels like being slushy and slick, rainy and cold, rendering any walking surface with an incline of any degree a death trap. It's entertaining to watch people make their way across campus, shuffling along the sidewalks as though they were extras rehearsing for March of the Penguins 2. Luckily the roads have not frozen over, making travel in this traffic-constipated town possible and allowing me to make my way home after I'm finally done with SPSS here at the library.
I broke down and bought my own copy of SPSS this morning; the Mac version is so much prettier than the Windows version and, on days when I simply don't feel like coming into campus, I'll be able to finish statistics assignments from the comfort of my dining room table. At least that's what I keep telling myself to justify shelling out thirty-five dollars for the software. I also remind myself that I was able to download the new version of Office earlier last week from the IUWare site for free so, really, it all works out.
Tomorrow's one of those days with gravity, attracting assignments to it much like paper clips to a magnet. I've a presentation in my afternoon class, the blasted SPSS assignment in my morning class, and teach in the middle. To make the situation a little more tenuous, I felt that tickle in my throat this morning. Yep, that one, the one that signifies there will be copious amounts of Sudafed, Nyquil (both night- and day-time formulas), and cough syrup.
Oh, yes.
