And the Reality Sets In

Sep 05, 2007 23:05

I think I half expected to wake up yesterday morning, dress in my first day of school clothes and walk into my classroom. Like this whole graduate school decision was a farce.

Welcome to your new life.

I'm nearing the close of week two and papers have started to turn up in syllabi. I'm in the middle of the APA handbook because I've always used MLA and hope my instructional technology professor won't knock me off for horrible citations. The writing is actually coming a little easier than I thought it would (he said before getting any of his papers back). The learning curve has been huge, forcing me to give myself crash courses in theory, philosophy and mechanics of writing. Many of the papers I'll be writing this semester are critiques on already published studies so I've been pulling apart research papers left and right, attempting to internalize some of the structure and general intonation of the writing. It's been exhausting but I only have one class tomorrow and can spend the rest of the day cleaning my apartment and finishing outlining notes for my research methods class.

So much to do.

And the iPhone fate has been sealed. I will go to the AT&T store in the morning. Perhaps they will have a 4GB model they can cut me a good deal on... I already have an iPod for all my music, so I'm not so worried about storage space.
