Believe
As quietly as he could manage, Enma slid on his hoodie then his jacket. He reached for his bag and glanced once again at Tsuna, who slept with his mouth wide open.
There was innocence etched into the Vongola's features, the kind of innocence that Enma yearned to trust, to believe in.
It was simply… warm.
Enma looked at the envelope in his hand, the name etched in pen on the front.
" Tsuna-kun "
He remembered Tsuna's declaration of friendship, how desperate he had sounded to tell the other boy. Enma wanted it to be genuine. He didn't want to think that Tsuna was like the rest of the mafia, the mafia who had betrayed and belittled his Family in years past.
But Tsuna was still a Vongola. The blood of traitors coursed through his veins.
Enma turned his gaze downcast and slid the envelope onto Tsuna's desk. He made his way over to the door and stopped with his hand on the doorknob. He glimpsed back at the sleeping boy, who continued to snore softly.
How differently would he look at Tsuna once tomorrow ended?
This test is necessary, Enma told himself.
It would tell him all he needed to know.
