:::knock - knock - knock::: Anyone there?

Been awhile, hasn't it? Sorry! In my defense, there just wasn't really anything to write about. Life was a basic routine of sleep, eat, listen to children fight and scream all day long, pull my hair out several times a day in frustration, cook for 8 people 3 times a day, do all the dishes, clean all the things, then go to bed and try to sleep so I could do it all the next day. Sleep didn't always happen due to the screaming and fighting children, and I would be a zombie the next day (and an ornery one at that!)

But today, it all comes to an end. DD and her children are moving out!! ::: does the happy dance of joy!!! :::

I can't wait until my house is back to normal, along with my checkbook balance. The grocery bills alone could have matched the national debt, not to mention the utility bills!

Health wise, I am doing ok. Blood pressure is a little bit elevated but pretty sure that is due to the household stress, and pain. A hip replacement is looking to be more and more a certainty. Pain is tolerable right now, for the most part, but it's constant. Some days are better than others, some worse. I keep doing what I can, but am learning to ask for help if I need it.

New addition to the family...a cat named Soules (I didn't name him). He is dark gray with green eyes. He was a stray that showed up to the house a while back, during some bad winter weather. Took him in, fed him, and watched for notices about a lost cat, which were never posted. After 2 months Griffen got so attached we decided to keep him. He's been a good cat, very quiet compared to the cat I had before. But this cat acts more like a dog than a cat. He is housebroken in that he does not use a litter box. If he needs to go, he lets us know he wants outside. I didn't want to deal with litter box smells, which is one reason I didn't want another cat. This works for me!

Griffen is doing pretty well, except for schoolwork. That's in the toilet again. Happens every year about this time in the school year, then he picks it up enough to move to the next grade. So frustrating!! He's been out of school all this week due to a stomach virus. I'm sure this will set him back even further.

It's always something.
