Well, since last time we met, things have changed slightly in Chez Faye_Jan.
Daughter started working as a consultant for Rodan & Fields. They're the dermatologists who created Pro-Activ. They have a complete skin care line available for all skin types. The best part of this is that she can do all her work from home, so she can be there for her children whenever necessary. No day care. The bad part is she has to get and retain clients before she begins to really make any money. It's happening, but very slowly. She had a plan to try and move out in June. I am thinking it won't happen that soon, but at least she has set a goal.
She paid up her phone bill and is totally current now.
She has a new boyfriend and I think she may have struck gold with this one. He is good to her and also to the kids. So far I can't find anything wrong with him. He is a photographer trying to get his business off the ground. To pay the bills he is working with a home remodeler ( he does the painting). If you saw the pilot episode of "Nashville Flipped" on HGTV, that is who he works for. (BTW, HGTV picked up the show for 6 more episodes! Yay!)
Finally....things are gearing up to a court hearing for the child support she needs for the children. The deadbeat dad hasn't sent any since October, and has one excuse after another. She is giving him to the end of this month to sign parenting papers, or else she will tell her lawyer to start legal proceedings. She is finally getting it going!
And me? Lets see.... I had to have surgery to repair a torn meniscus in my left knee. It wasn't just a tear: the meniscus looked like fringe on the edges. I had pain for over a year, but the insurance wouldn't cover surgery. I couldn't take it anymore and got it taken care of. I'm still recovering but at least I no longer need the crutches. But it still hurts some, especially in the evening after walking off and on all day. One day at a time!
Still haven't seen Avengers movie yet. Need to remedy that.
Need to paint every room in the house. It's driving me crazy but it isn't getting done until the kids are gone. Would have liked to put in a small garden but that isn't happening either, for the same reason.
Schools get out next week. Praying Griffen passes. This was a difficult year. Chemistry may need to be taken again, unless he gets a miracle. He will be done with JROTC too. He doesn't want to continue it. I let it be his choice. He can focus on the other courses now. Still hasn't got his driving permit but we hope to fix that this summer. He's going on vacation the end of the month to Florida, and he is spending at least one day at Universal. This will be his 2nd time going. I'm still waiting for my first. Someday...
ETA: Griffen failed Chemistry, but by one point. So he will have to take it again.
