“It’s a cliffhanger,” Connor said. Then, he laughed. “Literally!”
“Connor,” Stephen grunted.
“I never would have believed it if I hadn’t seen it for myself.” Connor shrugged. “Though I was too busy running from dinosaurs to think about much else.”
“Connor,” Stephen repeated, somewhat desperately now.
“It’s just kind of remarkable,” he continued. “An actual cliffhanger.”
“That’s great, really,” Stephen said, teeth clenched. “But do you think maybe you could pull me up?”
Connor blinked, looking at Stephen, hanging on the edge of the cliff above the yawning prehistoric canyon. “Oh!” He hesitated. “Wait. You can’t pull yourself up?”
“Connor!”
