Question about Japanese menu
Your favourite taste of fall
The Japanese breakfast autumn salmon
I don’t like fish or mushrooms but to be honest there are lots of fall season’s things that I am not quite like (laugh). However salmon is my favourite. Of course I could eat it for the whole year but the taste during fall is more delicious (laugh). For breakfast it would be great if white rice, natto, miso soup and salmon are served.
Foods that reminds you of your family
My grandma’s radish miso soup.
When I went to my grandma’s place in Osaka, she will serve my favourite dish. My favourite is especially the radish miso soup made by my grandma but it seemed like it leaves an impression on her, so whenever I went there she will only served radish miso soup. I am very happy but each time i have to do delightful reactions (laugh)
Taste that you can’t forget
I always said that “i like extremely spicy food”, so last year in a variety program I get to eat the extremely spicy dish but the level of spiciness is totally in different level. “Ah..people are totally shaken” I thought (laugh). It is scary to put the spoon into your mouth. I could feel the pain for 2-3 days. I was in New York alone on the previous day and return back to Japan just for the recording because it seems interesting. “I came all the way back for the sake of eating the spicy food”
Foods that have you been getting into lately.
Plenty of variations soba
When I’m trying to make something at home, I thought “soba is healthy and it’s easy to make” so without to much thought I started making it. But it is unexpectedly hard, first of all when you don’t have draining basket but you already make warm soba (laugh). Now I’m getting used to it, i have frozen chopped onions, grated radish, grated yams and there are plenty other variation! It would be a bit delicious if you put eatable spicy oil inside the soba soup or adding diluted pepper into the white broth would be nice too. If you change the taste, you can 3 meals of soba a day!
Favourite foods that you can eat as much as you can
Endless lettuce
I think I have been eating salad non stop. Especially lettuce! I really like it, when I went to supermarket lettuce would be the first thing I buy (laugh). When I bought 1 served of lettuce, I will eat half of it and another half of it I will put in the pot and make shabu shabu later. The amount of ingredients definitely will decrease a lot! When you add in Consommé Soup later it would be delicious too! Lettuce can be eaten in different ways
