Hi all.
So, I checked out Adria, and I'm joining. If anyone is unfamiliar, Adria is Ren-faire for the participants. There are no tourists, no one is trying to sell you overpriced alcohol or anything like that. Everyone's there because they like to dress up and talk funny and use swords and stuff. I was totally hip to that. Anyone interested is more than welcome to talk to me or just check out
http://www.adrianempire.org I'm going to be roleplaying again, at Adria, which will give me an outlet. Also, since its all medieval, there is far less chance of me getting into trouble with a fake gun. Damn but I do have stories. Anyone looking for note for the next generation, while it may be fun to run the streets of a big city at night in a massive live action game, the cops don't know you're playing. This is better. I will be camping. It will be safer. And I'll have my kids with me. Nothing keeps you in line better than kids.
I also threw money around and took Chad to see Hairspray at the Pantages. It rocked my world. I highly recommend a theatrical experience of that caliber to everyone at least once a year. It reminds you that playing is ok, even for grown ups, and that spreading a smile is a cause worthy enough to be a career for some very talented people. Plus it's great to do something really special every now and again (shout out to Ellen, the idea-person behind this little adventure). I surprised Chad. He didn't know until we got to the theatre. It was cool.
So that's it from me. I've written a new character history for my Adria chick (Lucia Connovi DeLorenzo, entering the existing DeLorenzo family and hence being all Italian and stuff). That's the extent of my literary greatness, unless you count tax forms and credit applications. Don't ask. It's lame.
And I heard from a fabulous friend from a million ga-gillion years ago BC (Before Children) when I was professionally 12 and he had never done drag. Shout out to Robert, my Angel, who I will be seeing soon. He promised, and now it's on the Internet, so you KNOW it's true. ;-)
That's all from the land of me.
I leave you with this: If I had something brilliant to say every time, then it wouldn't be special. Ha!
Love,
Kimberly
