One from the hard drive

Hi all, and Happy Mother's Day to all who are, or who have, or who plan to be, mothers.

I was looking through the hard drive, trying to find something in my poetry file, and I can never remember which is what by looking at the titles, so I was reading a few along the way. I stumbled across this one. Is it wrong to be moved by your own work? I suppose if my work could only move one person in the world, it should be me, because I'm the one who wrote it and I should have more of a connection to the words than anyone else. If I wrote something that was meaningless to me, but moved other people, I think that would be false in some way.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share it with you. It's called "Moment."

Peaceful commentary
of life and plans and Happenings,
Sitting in the Quiet
with a mug of warm Tranquility
whipped cream and a cherry.
If only I could bottle this
to sip from later,
when Peace becomes the stuff of Dreams,
Legend and Science-Fiction.
Where do these moments go?
Chaos beckons,
looming,
possibly awaiting discovery-
the Price for this Moment away-
and yet there it stays.
Life without Chaos is Empty.
Life without Peace is War.
Life without Change is Mundane at any level.
And here I sit,
Savoring a Moment too quick
and just Right,
a soft powder-blue square in my daily quilt,
made all the more interesting
with the reds yet to come,
and all still no more
than a thread in the Tapestry.
I shall weave a wall of wonder in my time,
And those who love me will stand back
to see the greater picture.
“See how each thread has its own design?”
they’ll say
“and what marvelous use of color.”
A Colorful Soul,
rising to all Occasions,
basking in each Moment
but holding none,
knowing each is as it was meant to be:
merely a stitch in Time.

Hope you all have a great day.

Kisses, hugs and "moments" to all,
Kimberly
