Amtrak claims to have wifi on their trains. Sounds like bs to me. AFAIK, it's impossible to hook internet up like that on a moving vehicle.
Quite possible. Wifi Routers on the train (probably one per car) with wired or wireless links between the cars. Then one or two cars will link the train network to the Internet via satellite or some such. Quite doable.
Heck, they could even be using cellular links or the like to towers along the line.
