Koko
Sad to find out Koko the gorilla died back in June of 2018. I remember reading about her and All Ball when I was little. I remember being so sad for her to read that All Ball died. :( Koko was so important to the effort to keep her species alive, and opened so many peoples' eyes to the fact animals are far smarter than we were giving them credit for. And she's at least part of the reason I got so facilitated with sign language.
Michael is dead, too. :( His story of watching his mother slaughtered for meat was so sad and harrowing.
