The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers #1)
OMG this is the best new series I've read in decades! The characters are amazing, interesting, and fun. There's drama and humor and touching moments. I cried several times reading this, and I don't cry easily. The non-human characters are realistically alien but also easy to relate to, even the AI. There's also LGBT characters, most of the humans are non-white, there's a canonically autistic character and another that might also be autistic, and where some stories get bogged down in big interplanetary conflict, in this story the conflict serves character development and is only like, 10% of the story. I'm eagerly awaiting reading the sequels! I want to know more about all of these characters! Beautiful, engaging page-turner!
