Yule Dragon
My roommate gave me a Happy Holidays card and I was filling out one for her, when I had the sudden thought of "I'm annoyed that there aren't really any uniquely pagan holiday things thanks to Christians stealing our holiday and calling it Christmas." So I came up with something for us pagans and neo-pagans: the Yule Dragon.
What we have so far, for the Yule Dragon: I put, on the inside of the card, "May the Yule Dragon set fire to your enemies and reward you with gold from its hoard." And then on the other side I drew a stack of Yule Gold bars with an angel on top. But it could just as easily be a pentagram on top.
So yes, new Yule tradition for Pagans: the Yule Dragon! It's green with red stripes on its back and silver claws and gold eyes, and it flies through the skies lighting hearth fires on Yule by blowing fire down the chimneys (it's intelligent, it knows when it can't or shouldn't do this). Then it breathes fire on your enemies if you want it to. If you're more compassionate, the Yule Dragon can leave dragon poop in the stockings of your enemies instead. To invoke and celebrate the passage of the Yule Dragon, give friends and loved ones gifts of chocolate "gold" coins, or something else shiny!
Also, leave a pile of "gold" chocolate coins or something shiny by the tree or yule log or menorah or other holiday symbol on Yule Eve (20th of December this year) for the Yule Dragon!
