Well, even though I still haven't finished that (now tedious to color) picture of of six deities in one frame1, last Tuesday night (the 19th into the early 20th, Wednesday), I had an inspiration for a picture of Kiin'djahn (AKA Kiin'John AKA Kiin'jahn)2, Deity of Wisdom. Even though She's said to have paper-white skin in one of the stories, I thought that since Her mother and Her sister are both brown skinned, that the paper white was a disguise, Deities being able to shapeshift. So I gave Her a different form, with brown skin, modeled from several pictures. The only part of Her appearance in the picture that is canon to the mythos is Her green eyes.
She was going to be bald at first, but I didn't like how it looked. I tried one of those hairstyles where the person has very coarse hair tight to the scalp, which gives a similar head silhouette as baldness, but something was off about that one as well. I ended up giving her dreadlocks, instead. Which I had wanted to do at first but had been unable to figure out how to do, until I found a brush that made very dreadlock-looking marks, and so I went with that.
I was a little surprised at the Goddess of Wisdom being so fierce looking, but it kind of fits. Especially since She had just slain the Demon of Stupidity. (Only sign of that being the blood on Her sickle.) She just kind of demanded to be in that pose, in those clothes, and to have stripes. I wanted to give Her a belt made of the teeth of demons, but I couldn't figure out how to do it without it looking corny.
I also wanted to shade the right arm cuff so it's more obvious that Her arm is akimbo, but I can't figure out how to do it.
Anyway, here is the picture:
Wrote this the day after drawing the above picture:
Kiin'Djahn forged Her sickle from Creation Onyx and moon iron, forging it in the fires of Shao'Zirrovehk (Djao'Kain's realm), using Water of Truth (from the Waters of Truth) to douse it. The wood of the handle is from an Ironwood tree growing in the sacred soil of Kusahnia's realm, watered from The Wellspring (Thurr's realm). After the wood was harvested (with permission from the tree), it was put in Shao'Zirrovehk to soak up the light of the Chaos Fire.
She wears a skirt made from sacred puu'ihn'tah'vuu (a plant that grows one giant leather-like leaf) grown by Jiijiinis and Alorno, imbued with their health and healing powers. It is also imbued with Djao-Kain's protective powers. As long as Kiin'Djahn wears the skirt, She cannot be killed, and any injuries She gets will heal at once. The sickle also has the power of Chaos Fire.
A small chip from the forging of Kiindjahn's sickle was used by Djao'Kain in the forging of the first Protection Knife.

Not sure how many other Deities I will draw. I really only did Kiin'Djahn to complete a set; I drew Her mother and sister, so had to draw Her as well. But hey, I may get some wisdom out of it. :-) Cuz hey, it's a great picture! And I plan to print it out and hang it on my wall with the other two. I may well be nearing the limit; neither Dochrahmahn-Turah nor Kraynah want images of themselves drawn, preferring to be known by symbols only. And a lot of the Deities in the list are not really any that I work with. About the only one I would really love to draw would be Kriio, Deity of Cold; but She's so beautiful in my mind's eye, and the colors are so subtle and important, that I don't feel I could do Her justice. Besides, I work so much with Djao'Kain, I think I'd rather do specific Aspects of Her. The only *specific* Aspect of Shao'Kehn/Djao'Kain that I have ever drawn was Shao'Mor'Shain, The Dark Mother. (Who, oddly, I never bothered shading Her skin in.) But there are so many Aspects of Shao'Kehn I could draw. Getting a vibe to NOT draw Shyao'Shyoh, though. And I don't know that I could do Shao'Yine (the one that appears as a hollow statue full of fire) justice. Not even sure how I'd made Her look like stone and not flesh.
Anyway, enough babble for now.
1 = Shao'Kehn, Ahndahn, Grah'Bahn, Thurr, Nwoikis, and Nahtahdjaiz all in one picture. It's a family portrait.
2 = I know, it's confusing having so many spellings, but it comes with the territory of trying to write a specific sound in a non-phoenetic alphabet. The " Kiin'Djahn " spelling is, so far, the closest. Though " Keen'Djahn " would be closer. The " dj " sound being somewhere between an SH and a J sound, with a slight D. Hard to put into words. I should record the sound and post the MP3 so y'all can hear it.
