Yeah, so totally just made it thru my first earthquake. I live/work just outside of the Washington DC area and the three story building I work in began to shake and move back and forth. Everyone's first reaction was OMGABOMB or OMGAGASLINEEXPLODED (which has happened in the past near my office building), but when the shaking continued we realized it was an earthquake.
Seriously one of the scariest things I have ever been thru in my life. And I hope to not have a repeat any time soon. Still having issues with the cell towers and can't get thru to my boyfriend or my parents, but I'm sure everyone is fine. Did manage to get a text message out to the boyfriend at least.
No major reports of damage around the area, but its still early. Though the local newspaper out where I live have people reporting that things fell down inside homes and such. I have a basement walk-out apartment so I'm wondering what potential mess I'll be coming home too. Thank god I signed up for renter's insurance incase anything major got knocked down and broken.
Between the earthquake and the hurricane coming our way this weekend, this is shaping up to be a super fun nature/weather week!
