Consolidation

I deleted my myspace a while back and got rid of a bunch of phone numbers from people I rarely, if ever, talk to. I was looking at grad schools and think I might want to try and go to the New School in New York. I'm sure it's difficult to get into, it looks it, but I believe in my writing so we shall see. Stephen Wright, (the author not the comedian), teaches there and since David Foster Wallace is dead I guess he's my favorite author that's teaching. It's hard for me to believe how much I was planning on being a Wallace student until I actually found that Wright was teaching as well. I felt academically lost or something. Even if I don't get into Wright's school, more places seem appealing just because there is a goal and drive again. University of Washington seems cool as well.

Not much else going on. I got a bicycle which I ride to school, and so I don't need to ride the bus, although the heat will soon be crazy.

I went to Tucson, Arizona for spring break. I took the Greyhound out there but rode back with a metal band who happened to be heading to Vegas. The bus ride itself wasn't too bad, just long. I enjoyed all the stops and getting involved with the rush to grab food and use bathrooms before having to scramble back on so the bus didn't leave without me. There were a couple sad sights but some mesmerizing ones as well. For instance, along the route are houses that have fallen apart, old shacks and things. One of these places had only one wall left standing and a cow sat in the shade it cast. There were some crazy cacti. There's no need to mention the sad things, nothing too bad. People with sad eyes and amputated arms, a mother swearing at her child, shitty things that aren't terrible compared with some horror stories I've heard.

Animal Collective at the end of May is a ways away, but I'm looking forward to the day that once again I see them play.

A couple weeks of school and then a month off. Bout time.
