Just recently watched the original trilogy, and it's been a while considering the last time I saw them was when the digital remasters were released on VHS.
I still really enjoy A New Hope, as it has a whole different attitude from the rest of the series. But it is no longer my favorite, as I can now fully appreciate The Empire Strikes Back (I used to think it was the most boring one, what with all of the plot and character development instead of constant laseran).
But I never realized how.. well, stupid Return of the Jedi was. I mean it has it's moments; Some of the Han Solo rescue was kinda neat, the introduction of scout troopers is always a plus for me, and of course the final duel between Luke and Vader was awesome. But everything between seemed really.. dumb. I think it may be because it was geared more toward children than the others (since they were suck a huge market, I suppose), in that while New Hope and Empire had a little comic relief here and there, Jedi seemed like nothing but at some points so you couldn't really take it seriously. Second, it almost seemed like the main characters had become aware that they were main characters, so they knew they could get away with whatever they wanted (if that makes any sense).
In short, fuck Ewoks.
