Yet again, guilty.
Oh well, real life has been good in the meantime. Brian Bedlam's birthday bash was fun and the bands were both good :-) Shame we had to nick off and come back for Ascension but I had a fab night.
J and I have been off for a mega jaunt to the West Coast, getting over to Mull finally and worth the wait it was, beautiful scenery, lovely people and a generally nice feel about it, despite the questionable weather changes. We found some amazingly cool little villages and hooses and a pub where spontaneous bagpiping broke out and we were entertained by a Kiwi builder called Phil who I want to build my dream straw house. Then over to cover both coasts of Argyll/Kintyre where the weather was much better. Lots of ferries and J wasn't sick :-) All the places get mixed up so quickly in my head. We had curry in Tarbet then went for a few drinks in the pub where there was a "turn" and a big sing song.
There was some van trouble of course. The minor problem of a exhaust breaking off - luckily J managed to cable tie it together. We also did the whole trip with no reverse gear, well, not without having to pull a really stiff lever under the van every time we needed reverse or to start the van again.
Stuff we saw, baby turkeys fecking CUUUUTEE, deers of all shapes and sizes, oh, actually stag in a back garden and the lad who lived next door was like, "yeah, he's here most days"...of course he is. Combichrist sheep, an owl, toad on a doorstep having a poo, seals sunbathing, grapes growing in Scotland. All good. I'd never want to live anywhere else if we had better weather.
This weekend will be brought to me by Eurostar, VNV Nation, Dirk Ivens, Fixmer McCarthy, ABC, Sonar, Combichrist, belgian beer, Fields of the Nephilim, Ahoj, sunshine (I hope) and some damn good company. Shame it clashes with Bedsitland - have fun whoever is going.
*edit* oh and Combichrist in Dublin...that's this weekend too isn't it, so we'll miss that and our lovely Irish/Italian family - hope to see you all soon!
Cheerio!
