Exile. That's one way to phrase it.

Welcome, Ilyigan, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Juliet.

For those who like fighting, you could, as Miss Mona Lisa has suggested, become an Adventurer, or perhaps offer to join the Guard or Watch, if they are hiring.

What else are we, doma? If I traveled here by my own will, I don't recall it.

I thank you for your welcome, either way. Is there a city watch, then? In such a small city, how much is there for them to do?

Prisoners, travelers, those who have been gifted...

There is one, and although they are small, they are devoted to their duty, and maintain a sense of relative peace.

And what of those who choose to make it their second home?

No, but there would be less, I'd assume.

Then I wish them luck, but if it were so easy, there would not have been exiles in any world.

A sensible enough assumption. Well - if there's action to be had, I suppose this will suit me. Who captains this watch?

Is that really the name that he chose for himself?

Yes. But his real name is Vimes. He doesn't mind which you call him.

What moves a man of any sense to call himself 'Stoneface'?

It was what spoke to him. The reasoning is as unknown to me as it is to you.

And does it suit him?
