26th step: Creeping death
[The feed clicks on to a shockingly messy scene. Just outside a broken section of the Great Wall of Adstringendum, Saul has hunted down and butchered - not simply killed - a huge bipedal creature of some sort, at least three times his size. It's sprawled in the thin snow, gutted, Saul's hook still sticking from its eye. Its face is just human enough to be clearly contorted in the pain of its passing.
It's a grand kill, but Saul doesn't look pleased as he steps onto the thing's chest, kneels down and retrieves his hook with a twist that causes a sputter of blood. He looks tense and irate, rather, as he cleans the metal in the snow, clips it back to his belt, then picks up the PCD.]
Enough. This isn't a soldier's work.
[With that word, he calls up a wind that rises and whips through his hair, and a moment later the light changes as the sky above him clouds over. Rain breaks soon, washing away the blood; he'll be bringing it with him into the city.]
I want to know... about the man called Sousuke Aizen. The man you death gods fear.
