Oh, I just can't decide...

You see, I intend on surprising a lovely young lady with a gown for the Masquerade Ball that's being held on Valentine's Day. I've narrowed it down to two potential dresses, but I just can't decide which one I prefer. Attached to the images of the gowns, I've included the

Ah, no. Not quite...

Marishka is in need of some company while I'm at work. A pet... something beautiful, yet... dangerous.

Something that can be tamed, and won't tear apart my apartment if at all possible.

Do you have any suggestions?

A demonic familiar may do. They have the ability to resemble common animals, are omnivorous, intelligent and loyal. Occasional feeding of the owner's blood is needed for bonding, but that shouldn't be any problem for Marishka.

I hadn't thought of demonic creatures as capable of being 'loyal' before. Are you certain about that?

From what I've seen, yes - very.

Not all familiars are demonic. There are other kinds and don't require a blood bond. Common 'witch's cat' for example; no different from ordinary cats except for a higher intellect and longer lifespan.

They find you. Wander thru a Underground shopping area and let it be know what you seek - someone acting on the familiar's behalf or the animal itself will approach you.

Surely it can't be so simple. You make it sound as if the Underground is littered with demonic pets.

And what would one of these creatures have to gain from putting itself into an arrangement such as this? Besides Marishka's lovely company of course...

Just pets, yes.

Familiars are not common pet animals and this is nothing like a shelter adoption. No matter how interested you may be in inquiring one, they make the decision.

They're very particular; the match has to be good or both will suffer.

Still, it could be an interesting experience. I'm rather curious to see what happens. And if it makes Marishka happier, then it's well worth every effort.
