Terry Gross interviewing Leonard Cohen is highly amusing. So I have been to two interviews and I think they went well. We shall see.
Music geek time: I have been playing some of the Bach sonatas and partitas for solo violin arranged for the clarinet on the guitar. Whew! say that three times fast. Clarinet music works well on the guitar because the written range is almost identical. Because the clarinet is a one note at a time affair, this guy didn't transcribe any of the fugues. They are my favorite, I will have to dig a copy of those up and work on them. I hope the violin version translates as well as the clarinet version. The clarinet version being only one note at a time is a great way to work on melodic skills on the guitar.
I haven't had a job that I could walk to since I was in high school. This new job would want me there in the mornings, before the sun comes up. That should be a nice walk. I had to go into one of my last jobs at the crack of dawn, and I loved the time right before I would go in, before the store opened and all the lights were out. It was very quiet and serene, but with the added foreboding of impending chaos. It's a weird time.
