Out of the Frying-pan...
Good news, everyone! (As Professor Farnsworth would say)
Things are shaping up to be more of what I expected at work. Now that we have enough people, and they have been sufficently trained, I've gotten to show my passion for education and they're allowing me to do more close encounters :D Oh how I missed the public, talking with little kids, and AMAZING people with awesome facts about tortoises, goats, and all other manner of critters. I've also been able to interact with the animals, keepers, and guests more. So it's all around looking up-and-up at work.
I've also been experimenting more with baking. Tonight's menu? Pumpkin bars, pumpkin gnocchi in a creamy pumpkin bisque! We'll see how that goes--cooking's never been my thing. I'm much more of a "baking" girl, if you know what I mean. Otherwise, though, I've gotten to experience a lot of neat things, fiddle with combining recipes, and MOST of them have turned out alright, I'd say >>; I've also been dining at some AWESOME restaurants lately (due to my lovely out-of-town visitors), including attending a dueling piano bar! What an experience! What noise! And what awesome renditions of Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Journey all in one place. Can't get much better than that :P
Unless you call hiking across a mountainous island and taking pictures of God's creation better :P Which I kinda do, but some people might think differently. If you'd like to view any of them, they're on the Facebook page. Who knew that you could go sailing just 20 minutes from a 6000ft peak and cross underneath a bridge with treacherous terrain~ Exciting :3
In other news, I'm going to see Harry Potter at the Midnight showing on Thursday with my co-worker buddies *yay* It's going to be such a fun day staying up until 3 in the morning and then having to wake up at 5:00 to head in to work the next morning XDD; Oh well! It'll be worth it, I'm sure. Can't believe it's the last one in the series already...I'm just glad it's not in 3-D ToT
