Long time no see, everyone!
Yes, I still do exist, I've just been busy moving around Tacoma, exploring, purchasing/sampling/devouring/creating/cutting food, and cleaning goat poo. :P You all understand, right? Well, long stories short, I've had an interesting week. I got my first experiencing grooming goats, interacting with the public, had a ridiculously long orientation to the Zoo and exposure to it, as well as lengthy explanations on how to best cut fruit for meerkats. That's basically what my job has been: wake up, clean, make diets, clean again, leave. Hopefully things will improve as I'm trained to do more, but as of now, I'm the chef and maid of all the animals in our portion of the park~ Tis the life of a Zoo Keeper, yes?
In other news, on my days/evenings off, I've had time to explore possible other jobs and frolick around the entirety of Tacoma/Downtown Washington. I've gone to the Mall, See's Candies, Nordstrom, Art-walk walking, the Tacoma Children's museum, Lakewood mall, walked down the lengthy stretch of 6th Avenue to visit Tacoma Boy's (most awesome market EVER), then went to visit Marlene's (also awesome organic store~), went to the best bakery in Tacoma (Corina), visited the Farmer's Market on 6th, and was entertained by a free concert. Not only that, but I've made friends with the local smoothie/tea-makers, put in job applications here and there, made Honey-Lemon scones (SO HARD) and I"m thinking of starting up a garden! I go tomorrow to fetch a few plants~ HOORAYS--Watch as I faaaill.
At any rate, all of my adventures have been chronologed on Facebook photos, so check them out there. I'll let you know how work goes when I got back in on Thursday...I have a LONG one...7-9pm. Argh argh. Oh well-I'll at least get to interact with members :3 Here's hoping that this summer will be a beneficial experience even if it ends up being feeding/cleaning.
