June Prompts - Part 2
1. Do you own a digital camera? Yes, a Panasonic Lumix to be precise. Though, admittedly, nowadays I use my phone more often.
2. How long does it usually take you to get to sleep? Sometimes I get to sleep in a minute or two. But there are nights when I can’t shut off my mind. I try to get up after 20 minutes or so if I’m not asleep.
3. What year did you graduate high school/college? I graduated from high school in 1976 and college in 1980. I got my doctorate in 1990, after a long slog finishing my dissertation.
4. Do you have anything interesting planned for tomorrow? Working on the story I am telling in a show on Thursday night.
5. When was the last time you were invited to go out? A friend asked me if I wanted to go to a movie on Friday night.
6. How many instruments do you own/have you owned? I own my father’s accordion, a renaissance flute that I can’t play because my fingers are too small to cover the holes, a tin whistle, a didgeridoo (which I am going to learn to play some day), and a bowed psaltery. I also have assorted small percussion instruments. When I was growing up we had a piano (which my brother got) and we borrowed a viola for me from my elementary school.
7. Do you have any ice cream in your freezer? What flavor is it? I usually do have ice cream in the freezer, but I ran out. I will probably buy lemon sorbet when I go grocery shopping.
8. Would you rather be able to talk to animals or be fluent in every language? Definitely being fluent in every language.
9. What do you do the most when you are online? Uh, doom scrolling.
10. How social would you say you are? Fairly social much of the time, but I also need introvert time to recharge my energy.
11. Which friend have you known the longest? I’ve known Kathy since about 4th grade. I do have a couple of Facebook friends who I’ve known longer, but don’t really interact with a lot.
12. Do you have a favorite cousin? My cousin, Tal, who lives in Israel, because she is a dancer and a poet and, in general, a fierce woman.
13. Have you ever put money in a mobile app game? No. I play Bejeweled Blitz a lot (too much actually) but refuse to spend money on it. Oh, wait, I think I might have bought some expansion packs for a trivia game several years ago.
14. If you could do anything for a living what would you do? Madcap heiress, of course.
15. If you had to be on a reality TV series which show would you pick and why? Most people would expect me to pick The Amazing Race, but my fear of heights would do me in quickly. If game shows count, I’ve been on two (Jeopardy! and The Challengers) and I think I might do well o The Chase.
16. How many times a day do you change your clothes? It depends on what I’m doing. But, since I’m retired, I rarely change my clothes once I get dressed in the morning.
17. Have you ever had anything stolen from you? Nothing significant.
18. Have you ever had to get any stitches? No.
19. Which major body of water do you live by? I’m not sure how one defines a major today of water. I’m less than 10 miles from the Potomac River. I’m about 50 miles from Chesapeake Bay.
20. Who is the last person that you took a picture with? Probably my friend, Cindy.
21. How good would you say your memory is? Fairly good when it comes to useless things like trivia or memorizing poetry. But don’t ask me where I put, say, my stapler.
22. Do you overeat at special occasions? (birthdays, holidays, etc) Sometimes.
23. Do you rearrange your furniture often? Pretty much never.
24. Would you rather drink out of a cup or a mug? Mug.
25. What is your least favorite thing about where you live? Noise from neighbors. It kind of comes with the territory when you live in a condo.
26. Have you snuggled with someone you weren’t dating? Not that I can think of.
27. Have you ever been hospitalized? No.
