Losers Club
I kinda knew I wouldn't win. I think the subject matter was just a little too edgy. Still it was a great gala event and I managed not to spill anything down the front of my white dress. Brooke (my Dorchester bodyguard) had selflessly offered to throw herself in front of a glass of red wine for me, like an FBI agent taking a bullet for the president, but luckily it never came to that.
Anyway I'm was in good company with Sean Chercover, Laura Lippman, Declan Hughes and Reed "Always a Bridesmaid" Farrel Coleman. And now that this is over, it's back to work on the new one.
But before I leave NYC, I have two more days to relax, eat, and enjoy my freedom from the keyboard.
