Seriously, we need stores of canned goods and water, a generator, candles, blankets, boxes of spare 6V6 / 6L6 / 12AX7 amp tubes, guitar strings, beer, the internet, more beer, a checkers set, the complete "Knight Rider" on DVD... did I miss anything?

Waiting for England to fully embody "28 Weeks Later", it's almost there...

Yesterday a news website posted one of the photoshopped shots (a man in front of a burning car and he appeared to be shielding a pony) and one of my co-workers sent it to me. I pointed out that it was clearly fake 'cause the pony had no hooves, just fetlocks. Boss said that we were all fired except for me 'cause we were so easily bamboozled.

I would've settled for a moderate raise and - of course - a pony ;)

Aggressive late night shopping!! Yes, I had a conversation today with a long-time London resident here and I'm pretty sure most people to the left of the current government also think the sudden severe cuts to social services are probably in large part to blame -- whether or not the 14 and 15 yr olds who are looting think of it that way or not.

I think the riots may have been ignited by the idea of protest but became something else - a destructive mob with zero discrimination regarding targets of the violence.
