So these past couple of days have been average I guess. Its had its slight ups and downs. Yesterday was tech, and I got to clean out the costume room (aka play dress up) and we played dress up with Natalie. She is fun to dress up. And I had fun trying on things too. I stole some pink pumps to wear today, but no worries, I'm going to put them back. Today was decade day for Winterfest, and I found it a lovely excuse to dress up in my 80s attire. I had my off the shoulder sweatshirt with a cut out neckline, purple skirt, fish net hose, pink pumps, red leg warmers (so lovingly donated by King), fish net sock gloves, and a side ponytail. It made me happy. I was dancing 80s style all day. I felt like Eula. :) Today Ms. Gaines was being a bitch about my research paper, and I am going to get two bad test grades on it because she is so damn picky. I really dont like her. I dont feel like going into the story, but I will just say she doesnt need to be so damn picky. Well thats about it for now. I have National Honor Society Inductions tonight. I need to go get ready soon. You know what makes me mad though. (Okay so that isnt it). When I gave the letter about me being accepted to my parents, they just gave me this look like, "You better be getting inducted." Its like they expect it out of me or something. Not even a congratulations. I think I would be grounded if I didnt get in. No joke. I wish they would at leats pretend to be happy for me. I think they are more proud of themselves for my accomplishments than they are for me. Okay, I think I'm done now.

Why would someone want to get married at the age of 16. Poor girl. I mean she is really throwing away her future. She has a lot of hard times ahead of her. Just because she doesnt like the school, doesnt mean she should move in with her fiance and get married. They didnt even have a ceremony. So sad. Just a license. Couldnt they have waited and had a real wedding. The kind that she always wanted. She has it planned out and everything. And just to ruin that and decide at the last minute to get married. Just to go downtown and get a license and have that be it. I cant believe she did it. She is only 16. Things can happen. What about college. Heck, what about high school? Does she not want to establish a life before she gets married? She is so young. I feel so sorry for her. She has a lot of hard times ahead.
So yeah stuff has gone on these past couple of days, but I really dont think anyone cares to read about it. Well ya know what? Too bad. I'm writing it down anyway.
Last night was so much fun. I couldnt decide whether to go to our school talent show (which I had to work) or go to an improv show at Germantown. I ended up doing tickets before the talent show, leaving seeing the improv show and hanging out for about 30 minutes, then coming back to the talent show just in time to see nobody important win awards and help clean up afterwards. Anyway, the improv thing was so much fun. I laughed. A lot. Then again, it really isnt hard to make me laugh. I wanted this one kid (I dont remember who) write a love letter to his/her pet llama, but the guy didnt hear me. That made me sad. But no worries because I am coping. Afterwards I kinda just hung out in the lobby for about 30 minutes, and then Mr. Gomez and I went back to the talent show. Then I cleaned and went home.
Well, I babysat this morning. Bleh. This one kid I watched is the biggest compulsive liar I have ever met. He's nine by the way. I have heard stories non stop from the minute I walk in to the minute I leave about him winning 1 million dollars off of radio disney, a naked man walking into a movie theatre he was in and then tripping and falling into a pool out back, and his French class that went to Paris. It annoys the crap out of me. And then when the parents came back, I came home and cleaned. Then I went and chilled at Borders for a while, then I went to the mall to find some earrings at Claires, but they didnt have any that even resembled what I wanted. Then went to Mamaw and Papaw's to get gas money (plus a little extra...), and now I am back home. I have to leave again in about 5 minutes to go babysit again. Wimper. I really dont like babysitting. At all. But it is my only source of income since Im not allowed (nor do I have the time) for a job.

Not really much has happened in Shannonlittleland lately, but I guess I can update you on what has happened. A couple of nights ago my parents heard me cuss for the first time. I really do need to cut back. I feel trashy. My mouth is so bad. Anyway, I didn't mean to. I forgot they were even there. Kath and I were standing at the top fo my stairs asking my parents a question about the North Pole, and then she said something bad about Finland. I turn to her and say, "Damn Finlands." At least it wasn't the F word or anything. But Troy looked like he was going to bust out into laughter and he said, "What did you say?" And I was like, "uh nothing." And then it was dropped. I'm surprised I'm not grounded for all of eternity. I guess they are so used to it because they don't have the best mouths either and they also talk to Jill next door a lot. Yeah...
So I was supposed to go see Les Mis last night. Kevin, Liz, and I went. Wow I love those two. They make me happy. And they are so adorable together. I'm glad I got to see Liz too, because now that she left me I don't get to see her a lot. Anyway, we went down there for rush tickets at 7 like Collins told us to and the line was 80,000 miles long. So we went to see Cold Mountain instead. It was an okay movie. Great storline and nicely made, it was just slow at parts. But my parents still think I went to see Les Mis, because if they knew I went to a movie that late on a school night, I would be in deep trouble. But I had fun hanging out with them.
I need to come up with another lie to tell my parents when I go places after school. The whole "helping out around the theatre" is getting old. I came home today and my mom told me I need to ask to stay after instead of just staying. I think she is going to talk to Collins soon. I need another excuse because I have used it every day after school this week. What can I say, I dont like going home. So if anyone has any good ideas, let me know.
Today seemed to go by fairly quick which is cool. I woke up at 7:20 today, so I was a tad late for school. I didnt care though because its Algebra. I could really not care any less about Algebra. Then after school I didnt feel like going home, so I called my mom and told her I was staying after school to help with talent show auditions, ad then me and Kath went to IHOP, the Dollar Store, and then Borders. yay Borders yay. I bought another book with my credit, and now I only have $17 left on it. Its sad how I can spend so much money on books and CDs and movies and Borders. Then I came home and pretended to do my homework. Right now I am procrastinating more. I have to memorize a monologue by tomorrow, and I am taking a break. The stress is killing me. I memorize lines sooooo slooooooowly. beh. Troy proceeded to tell me that my hair looks like shit in pigtails today. I told him that at least I have hair to pigtails in. Always go for the bald jokes. Works every time. Im hoping I get to see Les Mis tomorrow. King is supposed to call me when she gets home. blah. Now back to memorizing lines. ick.
The following is the play critique I wrote on Exit the Body (during Conference) for my Acting class....
I think the acting did not exist. There was no characterization whatsoever. I did not see ay qualities in ay of the characters. The girl who played Jenny kept switching accents. One minute she would be northern, and then next she would be from the Deep South. Everyone needed to slow down on his or her lines. I could not tell what was being said half of the time. Also, the cast needed to pause for laughs. Many jokes could not be heard over the audience. Once Crane faints, she doesn’t need to move. Her arm and torso kept moving after she was supposed to be passed out. A lot of the lines seemed forced as well. The lines need to seem natural. The laughs need to sound real too. Some were very forced and fake. There were some points where the actors wouldn’t respond to what others were saying. They would just stand there. And during the scene at 2am, make sure some people were out of sight before others came in. It seemed like some people would have seen each other in real life because the cueing was off. At another point in the show, Ms. Hammond is not very scared when she finds someone in her house. I would be terrified if I found someone strange in my house. She didn’t. Also, do not ABSOLUTLEY do not laugh at your jokes and break character. This happened several times. And everyone at one time fumbled over his or her lines. Jenny tended to nod her head every time she said a line too. That got repetitive and annoying. And she needs to watch where she is going. She missed the door once. The sheriff needs to make his accent sound real. He sounded like Yogi Bear half of the time. And make the blocking not cartoony. It seemed over the top sometimes.
I really liked the set. It was very nice and fit the play very well. The only thing I didn’t like is the fact that they had a fake flower in the vase. Everything in the set looked so realistic except for the flower. It drew my attention away from the rest. One other thing they need to do is make the set steady. The walls wobbled several times.
The lights were good. I liked how they made it dark when it was supposed to be night. I could see everyone.
The costumes were effective. They weren’t anything special, but they fit the play.
Most of the make up looked good. The guy who played Lyle wore way too much make up. There was too much bright red blush that wasn’t rubbed in. His foundation was not rubbed in at all. I could all lines. And his eye make up was darker than Johnny Depp’s in Pirates of the Caribbean. Mr. Hammond’s make up was not blended in either. And the sheriff’s mustache looked really fake. The secretary’s make up needed to be rubbed in as well.
When it is raining outside, make sure you look like it when you come in. It didn’t seem like it was raining when the actors came in when I could hear the rain sounds outside. And when there are dead bodies in the closet, make them hang from something. They were hanging in mid air.
I don’t recall any music in the play.
I still wonder why Forum did not make it into Conference. The script was horrible. It was confusing. You didn’t know what was happening until over halfway through the play. The acting wasn’t acting. It was reading lines. I felt that the only thing that kept this play together was the one-liners. And half of them you couldn’t hear because the actors didn’t speak up enough, or they didn’t pause long enough for laughs.
Is it sad that I get cabin fever after being home for a day and a half? Well today I couldnt take being home anymore, but I had to watch Maggie for a while so my Mom could type. That dog is more work than a baby. And she pees more than Stina. But around1 I left and went to Borders for a while. Then I drove around for a while and decided to go to Thrift Town and the Goodwill on Shelby Drive. And just in case you were wondering ......I did not spend my Les Mis ticket money on thrift store clothes..... really....I didnt... So after that I came home and ate and then Kath came over for a while. That was the extent of my day. I was going to do homework, but left my stuff at school. oops. oh well. Thats about it. I am so tired and its only 9:45. I might be going to bed early tonight.
Conference was this weekend, and in retropect, I had a blast. I hung out with lots of cool people. Most of them being Kevin, Stina, and Germantownians. If I ever had to switch schools, Germantown would be my next choice. Friday I went to a soft shoe dancing workshop and then to a one act by Ridgeway. It was kinda funny though because one of the kids who I competed with in HI at both White Station and Overton did that one act as his piece. Brentwood put on their production of Exit the Body, and it made me wonder why Forum didn't get in. And they can absolutley not say it was because of the sexual innuendos. Exit the Body had flat out references. At least in Forum you could take something two ways. After we all go to leave, I was in a pissy mood for stupid reasons, and I told my parents I wouldnt be home until 11 or 11:30, so I went to my happy place for a while and listened to my happy music. The next day I went to Living in the Moment and Bringing it to Life, Stage Combat, and Swing Dance. Those were awesome. Natalie didnt get on executive board, and I really dont know why. I thought she would have, and that being from a non-bias point of view. That made me sad, but I had fun helping her campaign and being Yoshi and stuff. (P.S. - The Yoshi walk is my new favorite thing to do.) However, my Eula is now President of the Board, and I am oh so very happy for her. She deserves it. That night we watched Our Town, and I decided that I didnt like the show at all. It wasnt the actors or anything. It was just the script. It was a very boring script. Then the dance. I asked to leave and come back to help clean, but Luter pretty much said no. So I went. It wasnt so bad though. It didnt seem like it lasted that long, so it wasnt too bad. And I had fun dancing through a couple of songs. After I left the dance, I was depressed for more stupid reasons, and my happy place was closed. So I drove around for about an hour (I told me parent I probably wouldnt be home til about 1 or 1:30.) listening to Hands Down on repeat the entire time in hopes of cheering me up. It worked a little. So that was my Conference in a nutshell.
On another note, while I was at Conference yesterday, my parents decided to go out and by a puppy. hehe. Shes so adorable and sweet and calm and cuddly. Shes not spastic, so thats a major bonus. She is a 3 month old Golden Retriever named Maggie. My parents told me I could name her, but guilted me into naming her Maggie. But its cool, because I like that name. Except I think of Maggie Hale everytime I say it. Dont get me wrong, I like Maggie Hale. She is sweet to me, but I havent talked to her since 7th or 8th grade. And thats just weird. But I love my puppy. I am trying to give more attention to Brittney though, too, because I know she is a little jealous. Poor Brit.
I am so tired. I didnt get to bed until 1:30 last night, and then my mom decided to come throw Maggie on me this morning at 7:45. And then I couldnt go back to sleep after that. I just dosed on and off for about 2 hours until Papaw called me on my phone for no important reason. So I hung up and Troy prances upstairs just to say Hi. Whats with all the sudden attention from my family? And why so early in the morning? All I wanted was to sleep.
I just got done watching the Mole, and Corbin got executed. CORBIN GOT EXECUTED!!! He cant get executed. Is it sad that I am about to cry? I mean he got a second chance, and he plays so well! He is so observant. And he gets to people. And he plays so well. Out of all the episodes of this show ever, he should win. He really should. Poor Corbin. I feel so bad. He really deserved it. And all of the other players felt that way too I think. Aw. And he is out so soon! They couldnt have kept him around a little longer? I mean second to go. Thats a little harsh. Poor kid. Aw. So sad. Come back Corbin come back!
Wow I was so busy today, and everything is still not done. Tomorrow is going to be hectic as well. I went straight from school to the library with Lauren to find a scene for competition. We successfully picked about 30 plays we did not want to do. Yeah. Then I went straight from there to Nat's house to work on campaign stuff. We still didnt get it all done, so we have to work on it tomorrow too. Its going to be so great if we can just get it together. The together part is what I am worried about though. And I stil havent even started my homework. The only bad thing about this Chemistry class is that I actually have to do my homework. blah. so yeah.
I know the quality of my new picture up top is bad, but I had to put it up. Because there is a bird on my head. Really. I mean c'mon. I think it's destiny.
Today was an okay day overall. I had absolutely nada homework. Woohoo! That made me smile 8722 times. :) yay! King came over and we did Pilates together. I like Pilates. It's relaxing, unlike Yoga. Yoga just gives me tension and makes me mad. People say I'm doing it wrong, so apparently me and Yoga weren't made for each other. I'll stay with my Pilates. I got this huge mega-blister on the side of my thumb from painting the stage today. It hurts like a mother. HOW DO I GET A BLISTER PAINTING??? hhmm. Oh the things I do for theatre. It hurts. A lot. I had a cold, wet paper towel around it for 3 periods today, because not only was there a blister, but it was burst open. ouch. But everything is cool, because I had no homework. hehe yay!
AAHH! Conference is only 4 days away! I am so excited! I can't wait! I have never been before, so it will be a new experience. From many I have heard it is the most fun people have had in a while. eekk! Yay! I'm hoping to see people there that I don't get to see that often too. That would be nice. And I am happy I get to help Nat with her campaign. I'm in the skit and everything, which is cool because I really wanted to be. I'm so excited. And that is almost an entire weekend that I don't have to see my parents. WOOHOO! That makes me very happy. And we have a three day weekend this weekend, so I will have an extra day to recoop afterwards.
But yeah. Enough on Conference for now. Today was a pretty busy day. I came home from school, and King, Richard Simmons, and I worked out together. Poor uncoordinated....Richard Simmons. hehe just kidding. mwah! Then I cleaned my room, even though it wasn't dirty. I dont know what has been up with this lately, but ever since I have organized my room, I cannot stand it being messy. i freak out if things are out of place. I have become my worst nightmare. I used to be one of the messiest people alive. I don't know what happened. It's kind of nice though, yet kind of annoying at the same time. And then I did homework for the first time since I have been back from winter break. Yes, everyone can applaud. I did my homework. I am so proud. And Chemistry too! I never do Chemistry homework! :-) yay! And then I went to tech and helped get things ready for Conference. We set up chairs (I hope we have enough...), cleaned out the shop and wings, and painted the stage. I don't think the schools performing would appreciate our pink/yellow/purple/orange floor for Forum for them to perform on. I think it would be great, but people have lost their sense of humor these days. So yeah, that's about it for now. Adios.
So yeah. My weekend has been pretty okay so far. Last night I told my parents me and Kath were going to Wolfchase and then we went downtown because I had never been before. It was cool except I was bitter for having to pay 5 bucks to park. whatever. So we wandered around Peabody Place and walked down Beale street and yeah. Then we came back to my house and watched Empire Records, because she had never seen it before and its a freakin awesome movie. Then I went thrift store shopping with Eula, Nat, and King today, but they had an advisory board meeting at 3 so we didnt do too much. But then I went over to my grandparents house to burn the entire Magnetic Fields box set that Ms. Hinds oh so graciously let me borrow. Note to Self: Don't burn CDs at someone's house if they think they are the technical genuis of America, when really they dont come close. Papaw thinks he is a wiz at computers, when it took him a total of 30 minutes to figure out how to type on a CD label design software. Sigh. I wasnt allowed to do it, because I "didn't know how to and wasn't experienced enough." yeah. Anyway. I'm home tonight. Blah. I might sneak off somewhere after Mom and Troy leave, because I dont think I can stay the night with Mimi (Troy's mom). She drives me up the wall.

You see, Harry had one more hump than most llamas in his region.
Why would someone want to get married at the age of 16. Poor girl. I mean she is really throwing away her future. She has a lot of hard times ahead of her. Just because she doesnt like the school, doesnt mean she should move in with her fiance and get married. They didnt even have a ceremony. So sad. Just a license. Couldnt they have waited and had a real wedding. The kind that she always wanted. She has it planned out and everything. And just to ruin that and decide at the last minute to get married. Just to go downtown and get a license and have that be it. I cant believe she did it. She is only 16. Things can happen. What about college. Heck, what about high school? Does she not want to establish a life before she gets married? She is so young. I feel so sorry for her. She has a lot of hard times ahead.
So yeah stuff has gone on these past couple of days, but I really dont think anyone cares to read about it. Well ya know what? Too bad. I'm writing it down anyway.
Last night was so much fun. I couldnt decide whether to go to our school talent show (which I had to work) or go to an improv show at Germantown. I ended up doing tickets before the talent show, leaving seeing the improv show and hanging out for about 30 minutes, then coming back to the talent show just in time to see nobody important win awards and help clean up afterwards. Anyway, the improv thing was so much fun. I laughed. A lot. Then again, it really isnt hard to make me laugh. I wanted this one kid (I dont remember who) write a love letter to his/her pet llama, but the guy didnt hear me. That made me sad. But no worries because I am coping. Afterwards I kinda just hung out in the lobby for about 30 minutes, and then Mr. Gomez and I went back to the talent show. Then I cleaned and went home.
Well, I babysat this morning. Bleh. This one kid I watched is the biggest compulsive liar I have ever met. He's nine by the way. I have heard stories non stop from the minute I walk in to the minute I leave about him winning 1 million dollars off of radio disney, a naked man walking into a movie theatre he was in and then tripping and falling into a pool out back, and his French class that went to Paris. It annoys the crap out of me. And then when the parents came back, I came home and cleaned. Then I went and chilled at Borders for a while, then I went to the mall to find some earrings at Claires, but they didnt have any that even resembled what I wanted. Then went to Mamaw and Papaw's to get gas money (plus a little extra...), and now I am back home. I have to leave again in about 5 minutes to go babysit again. Wimper. I really dont like babysitting. At all. But it is my only source of income since Im not allowed (nor do I have the time) for a job.

Not really much has happened in Shannonlittleland lately, but I guess I can update you on what has happened. A couple of nights ago my parents heard me cuss for the first time. I really do need to cut back. I feel trashy. My mouth is so bad. Anyway, I didn't mean to. I forgot they were even there. Kath and I were standing at the top fo my stairs asking my parents a question about the North Pole, and then she said something bad about Finland. I turn to her and say, "Damn Finlands." At least it wasn't the F word or anything. But Troy looked like he was going to bust out into laughter and he said, "What did you say?" And I was like, "uh nothing." And then it was dropped. I'm surprised I'm not grounded for all of eternity. I guess they are so used to it because they don't have the best mouths either and they also talk to Jill next door a lot. Yeah...
So I was supposed to go see Les Mis last night. Kevin, Liz, and I went. Wow I love those two. They make me happy. And they are so adorable together. I'm glad I got to see Liz too, because now that she left me I don't get to see her a lot. Anyway, we went down there for rush tickets at 7 like Collins told us to and the line was 80,000 miles long. So we went to see Cold Mountain instead. It was an okay movie. Great storline and nicely made, it was just slow at parts. But my parents still think I went to see Les Mis, because if they knew I went to a movie that late on a school night, I would be in deep trouble. But I had fun hanging out with them.
I need to come up with another lie to tell my parents when I go places after school. The whole "helping out around the theatre" is getting old. I came home today and my mom told me I need to ask to stay after instead of just staying. I think she is going to talk to Collins soon. I need another excuse because I have used it every day after school this week. What can I say, I dont like going home. So if anyone has any good ideas, let me know.
Today seemed to go by fairly quick which is cool. I woke up at 7:20 today, so I was a tad late for school. I didnt care though because its Algebra. I could really not care any less about Algebra. Then after school I didnt feel like going home, so I called my mom and told her I was staying after school to help with talent show auditions, ad then me and Kath went to IHOP, the Dollar Store, and then Borders. yay Borders yay. I bought another book with my credit, and now I only have $17 left on it. Its sad how I can spend so much money on books and CDs and movies and Borders. Then I came home and pretended to do my homework. Right now I am procrastinating more. I have to memorize a monologue by tomorrow, and I am taking a break. The stress is killing me. I memorize lines sooooo slooooooowly. beh. Troy proceeded to tell me that my hair looks like shit in pigtails today. I told him that at least I have hair to pigtails in. Always go for the bald jokes. Works every time. Im hoping I get to see Les Mis tomorrow. King is supposed to call me when she gets home. blah. Now back to memorizing lines. ick.

I think the acting did not exist. There was no characterization whatsoever. I did not see ay qualities in ay of the characters. The girl who played Jenny kept switching accents. One minute she would be northern, and then next she would be from the Deep South. Everyone needed to slow down on his or her lines. I could not tell what was being said half of the time. Also, the cast needed to pause for laughs. Many jokes could not be heard over the audience. Once Crane faints, she doesn’t need to move. Her arm and torso kept moving after she was supposed to be passed out. A lot of the lines seemed forced as well. The lines need to seem natural. The laughs need to sound real too. Some were very forced and fake. There were some points where the actors wouldn’t respond to what others were saying. They would just stand there. And during the scene at 2am, make sure some people were out of sight before others came in. It seemed like some people would have seen each other in real life because the cueing was off. At another point in the show, Ms. Hammond is not very scared when she finds someone in her house. I would be terrified if I found someone strange in my house. She didn’t. Also, do not ABSOLUTLEY do not laugh at your jokes and break character. This happened several times. And everyone at one time fumbled over his or her lines. Jenny tended to nod her head every time she said a line too. That got repetitive and annoying. And she needs to watch where she is going. She missed the door once. The sheriff needs to make his accent sound real. He sounded like Yogi Bear half of the time. And make the blocking not cartoony. It seemed over the top sometimes.
I really liked the set. It was very nice and fit the play very well. The only thing I didn’t like is the fact that they had a fake flower in the vase. Everything in the set looked so realistic except for the flower. It drew my attention away from the rest. One other thing they need to do is make the set steady. The walls wobbled several times.
The lights were good. I liked how they made it dark when it was supposed to be night. I could see everyone.
The costumes were effective. They weren’t anything special, but they fit the play.
Most of the make up looked good. The guy who played Lyle wore way too much make up. There was too much bright red blush that wasn’t rubbed in. His foundation was not rubbed in at all. I could all lines. And his eye make up was darker than Johnny Depp’s in Pirates of the Caribbean. Mr. Hammond’s make up was not blended in either. And the sheriff’s mustache looked really fake. The secretary’s make up needed to be rubbed in as well.
When it is raining outside, make sure you look like it when you come in. It didn’t seem like it was raining when the actors came in when I could hear the rain sounds outside. And when there are dead bodies in the closet, make them hang from something. They were hanging in mid air.
I don’t recall any music in the play.
I still wonder why Forum did not make it into Conference. The script was horrible. It was confusing. You didn’t know what was happening until over halfway through the play. The acting wasn’t acting. It was reading lines. I felt that the only thing that kept this play together was the one-liners. And half of them you couldn’t hear because the actors didn’t speak up enough, or they didn’t pause long enough for laughs.
Is it sad that I get cabin fever after being home for a day and a half? Well today I couldnt take being home anymore, but I had to watch Maggie for a while so my Mom could type. That dog is more work than a baby. And she pees more than Stina. But around1 I left and went to Borders for a while. Then I drove around for a while and decided to go to Thrift Town and the Goodwill on Shelby Drive. And just in case you were wondering ......I did not spend my Les Mis ticket money on thrift store clothes..... really....I didnt... So after that I came home and ate and then Kath came over for a while. That was the extent of my day. I was going to do homework, but left my stuff at school. oops. oh well. Thats about it. I am so tired and its only 9:45. I might be going to bed early tonight.
Conference was this weekend, and in retropect, I had a blast. I hung out with lots of cool people. Most of them being Kevin, Stina, and Germantownians. If I ever had to switch schools, Germantown would be my next choice. Friday I went to a soft shoe dancing workshop and then to a one act by Ridgeway. It was kinda funny though because one of the kids who I competed with in HI at both White Station and Overton did that one act as his piece. Brentwood put on their production of Exit the Body, and it made me wonder why Forum didn't get in. And they can absolutley not say it was because of the sexual innuendos. Exit the Body had flat out references. At least in Forum you could take something two ways. After we all go to leave, I was in a pissy mood for stupid reasons, and I told my parents I wouldnt be home until 11 or 11:30, so I went to my happy place for a while and listened to my happy music. The next day I went to Living in the Moment and Bringing it to Life, Stage Combat, and Swing Dance. Those were awesome. Natalie didnt get on executive board, and I really dont know why. I thought she would have, and that being from a non-bias point of view. That made me sad, but I had fun helping her campaign and being Yoshi and stuff. (P.S. - The Yoshi walk is my new favorite thing to do.) However, my Eula is now President of the Board, and I am oh so very happy for her. She deserves it. That night we watched Our Town, and I decided that I didnt like the show at all. It wasnt the actors or anything. It was just the script. It was a very boring script. Then the dance. I asked to leave and come back to help clean, but Luter pretty much said no. So I went. It wasnt so bad though. It didnt seem like it lasted that long, so it wasnt too bad. And I had fun dancing through a couple of songs. After I left the dance, I was depressed for more stupid reasons, and my happy place was closed. So I drove around for about an hour (I told me parent I probably wouldnt be home til about 1 or 1:30.) listening to Hands Down on repeat the entire time in hopes of cheering me up. It worked a little. So that was my Conference in a nutshell.
On another note, while I was at Conference yesterday, my parents decided to go out and by a puppy. hehe. Shes so adorable and sweet and calm and cuddly. Shes not spastic, so thats a major bonus. She is a 3 month old Golden Retriever named Maggie. My parents told me I could name her, but guilted me into naming her Maggie. But its cool, because I like that name. Except I think of Maggie Hale everytime I say it. Dont get me wrong, I like Maggie Hale. She is sweet to me, but I havent talked to her since 7th or 8th grade. And thats just weird. But I love my puppy. I am trying to give more attention to Brittney though, too, because I know she is a little jealous. Poor Brit.
I am so tired. I didnt get to bed until 1:30 last night, and then my mom decided to come throw Maggie on me this morning at 7:45. And then I couldnt go back to sleep after that. I just dosed on and off for about 2 hours until Papaw called me on my phone for no important reason. So I hung up and Troy prances upstairs just to say Hi. Whats with all the sudden attention from my family? And why so early in the morning? All I wanted was to sleep.
I just got done watching the Mole, and Corbin got executed. CORBIN GOT EXECUTED!!! He cant get executed. Is it sad that I am about to cry? I mean he got a second chance, and he plays so well! He is so observant. And he gets to people. And he plays so well. Out of all the episodes of this show ever, he should win. He really should. Poor Corbin. I feel so bad. He really deserved it. And all of the other players felt that way too I think. Aw. And he is out so soon! They couldnt have kept him around a little longer? I mean second to go. Thats a little harsh. Poor kid. Aw. So sad. Come back Corbin come back!
Wow I was so busy today, and everything is still not done. Tomorrow is going to be hectic as well. I went straight from school to the library with Lauren to find a scene for competition. We successfully picked about 30 plays we did not want to do. Yeah. Then I went straight from there to Nat's house to work on campaign stuff. We still didnt get it all done, so we have to work on it tomorrow too. Its going to be so great if we can just get it together. The together part is what I am worried about though. And I stil havent even started my homework. The only bad thing about this Chemistry class is that I actually have to do my homework. blah. so yeah.
I know the quality of my new picture up top is bad, but I had to put it up. Because there is a bird on my head. Really. I mean c'mon. I think it's destiny.
Today was an okay day overall. I had absolutely nada homework. Woohoo! That made me smile 8722 times. :) yay! King came over and we did Pilates together. I like Pilates. It's relaxing, unlike Yoga. Yoga just gives me tension and makes me mad. People say I'm doing it wrong, so apparently me and Yoga weren't made for each other. I'll stay with my Pilates. I got this huge mega-blister on the side of my thumb from painting the stage today. It hurts like a mother. HOW DO I GET A BLISTER PAINTING??? hhmm. Oh the things I do for theatre. It hurts. A lot. I had a cold, wet paper towel around it for 3 periods today, because not only was there a blister, but it was burst open. ouch. But everything is cool, because I had no homework. hehe yay!
AAHH! Conference is only 4 days away! I am so excited! I can't wait! I have never been before, so it will be a new experience. From many I have heard it is the most fun people have had in a while. eekk! Yay! I'm hoping to see people there that I don't get to see that often too. That would be nice. And I am happy I get to help Nat with her campaign. I'm in the skit and everything, which is cool because I really wanted to be. I'm so excited. And that is almost an entire weekend that I don't have to see my parents. WOOHOO! That makes me very happy. And we have a three day weekend this weekend, so I will have an extra day to recoop afterwards.
But yeah. Enough on Conference for now. Today was a pretty busy day. I came home from school, and King, Richard Simmons, and I worked out together. Poor uncoordinated....Richard Simmons. hehe just kidding. mwah! Then I cleaned my room, even though it wasn't dirty. I dont know what has been up with this lately, but ever since I have organized my room, I cannot stand it being messy. i freak out if things are out of place. I have become my worst nightmare. I used to be one of the messiest people alive. I don't know what happened. It's kind of nice though, yet kind of annoying at the same time. And then I did homework for the first time since I have been back from winter break. Yes, everyone can applaud. I did my homework. I am so proud. And Chemistry too! I never do Chemistry homework! :-) yay! And then I went to tech and helped get things ready for Conference. We set up chairs (I hope we have enough...), cleaned out the shop and wings, and painted the stage. I don't think the schools performing would appreciate our pink/yellow/purple/orange floor for Forum for them to perform on. I think it would be great, but people have lost their sense of humor these days. So yeah, that's about it for now. Adios.
So yeah. My weekend has been pretty okay so far. Last night I told my parents me and Kath were going to Wolfchase and then we went downtown because I had never been before. It was cool except I was bitter for having to pay 5 bucks to park. whatever. So we wandered around Peabody Place and walked down Beale street and yeah. Then we came back to my house and watched Empire Records, because she had never seen it before and its a freakin awesome movie. Then I went thrift store shopping with Eula, Nat, and King today, but they had an advisory board meeting at 3 so we didnt do too much. But then I went over to my grandparents house to burn the entire Magnetic Fields box set that Ms. Hinds oh so graciously let me borrow. Note to Self: Don't burn CDs at someone's house if they think they are the technical genuis of America, when really they dont come close. Papaw thinks he is a wiz at computers, when it took him a total of 30 minutes to figure out how to type on a CD label design software. Sigh. I wasnt allowed to do it, because I "didn't know how to and wasn't experienced enough." yeah. Anyway. I'm home tonight. Blah. I might sneak off somewhere after Mom and Troy leave, because I dont think I can stay the night with Mimi (Troy's mom). She drives me up the wall.
