All kinds of school type goodness.
First off last week I went up to my sister's school and helped them prepare for the "We the People" contest by being a judge for their faux competition. Highly exciting stuff. There were some amazingly smart 8th graders there. And there were some amazingly NOT smart 8th graders there. How interesting. Further cementing my view of not wanting to teach that age level.
Then after the competition I got to speak to the class about my trip to Iraq. When my sister's co-worker said "Come talk to my class" I thought he meant 25-30 kids. Nope...160+kids. I had a mic on for Charleton Heston's sake.
This week will be filled with tons of professional sports excitement. Tonight I'm going to the Colts game. Thanks to my brother for inviting me to that!
And Wednesday I'm possibly going to the Pacers game. Much thanks to Sam in advance provided she did not find someone who would be happier to attend a basketball game than I.
Tomorrow lunch with Ron Arnold (Congressman Mike Pence's Campaign Coordinator). He'll soon revert back to his job on the congressional side of Mike's staff. Don't ask me exactly what that is because I'm not sure. I'm going to work on getting MRP lined up with the Town of Pendleton's peoples so they can have a better working relationship.
Wednesday I'm also supposed to go speak to AM and PM kindergartners at Maple Ridge Elementary for their Veterans Day learnings. I'm not exactly sure what you are supposed to tell a kindergartner about war. I guess I'll just show them some pictures of our dogs and what it looks like over there. Add in a dash of me in uniform and pass around my desert boonie cover and they'll be happy.
Working P-town Thursday and Friday and hopefully having lunch with family both days. Dad on Thursday and my uncle on Friday.
Last night was LunchBox's 21st birthday and we went to BW3s for a few drinks. He's so funny. In the next few weeks I have to teach him to shoot, drink, and play pool. My little boy is all grown up.
Okay I'm done.
