Lands' End Starfish pants and general dress pant hell

Jul 11, 2014 13:02

Hey all! I hate "office appropriate" trousers/pants because I just can not find something that is a good fit.  If it fits in the waist, it is giant everywhere else. And of course, if it if it fits in the hips/legs/butt, it won't zip.  So I end up looking for pull on pants for work attire.  I can wear anything from a 18/20 in pull on pants to a 24, depending on sizing.  I am 5' 5 and 265, size 24 in most jeans and NOT curvy at all.

I just ordered about $250 dollars worth of pants from all over online and the only thing that has really worked are these in 3x: http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-1790125/iz-byer-california-pull-on-millennium-pants-juniors-plus.jsp The material for this pair is definatley not a knit.  It reminds me of an old pair of lane bryant dress pants I have.

I also ordered the Starfish pants from Lands' End in black, here is the link: http://www.landsend.com/products/womens-starfish-refined-stretch-pants/id_219545_57#. I will say that they fit well and are very soft but I was wondering for those who own these, what do you wear them with and where do you where them?  Based on the reviews, it looked like people do wear these to work in an office environment, which is why I bought them.  But I just can't get past the material.  Because it is such a soft knit, I worry that they just won't be professional enough.  Do any of you own these and wear them to work?

And just due to future reference for anyone else in the same boat, I also bought these pants from avenue, which I am pretty sure are identical to the dress barn pants of the same make/model.   http://www.avenue.com/en_US/tummy-control-pull-on-pant-28-32-200305477.html?dwvar_200305477_color=542&fromSearch=true#q=pull_on+pants&start=6

If anyone has any recommendations or further input I would be happy to hear it. Pants recommendations welcome! :)
