Bra Problems...

I'm having a bit of a bra dilemma.

In the past, I used to wear Lane Bryant's lace plunge bra. The first time I tried one on, there were like fireworks over my head, I was so in love with it. Comfy & sexy. Fantastic.

Since then, our relationship has soured. I went through a period of body changing, I think, and suddenly I didn't know my size anymore, so I had underwires poking my armpits, sore around the band, underwires breaking or poking out of the bra, and most recently, the bottom of the underwires digging into the top of my stomach. I eventually gave up and got some bras without underwires. They're definitely more comfortable, but they are incredibly unflattering, and after a while the band at the bottom started rolling up in the roll I have right under my breasts (which ends up being uncomfortable, too).

I went to LB and got a fitting this weekend, confirming that my size is 46D, and she had me try on pretty much all of their other styles, none of which looked as nice as the plunge (most other bras look like a deflated balloon on top when I wear them). I bought a couple of plunges and took them home, hoping for the best now that I had the correct size.

Today, I wore one of them to work. The bra felt great...until I sat down. I have a high belly, so sitting down dug the bottom of those underwires right into my flesh, so hard that I had red welts and swollen patches right along the bottom of the bra by the end of the day.

So to recap, bra with no underwire = band rolls up and hurts, bra with underwire and no band = underwire presses into roll all day and causes misery.

I'm not sure where to go from here.

I tried that "Know Your Breasts" thing from herroom.com and it's got a lot of suggestions for those with high stomachs, but not many that look like they'll be much different from from the bras that are causing the problems.

Has anyone else had a similar bra problem? Did you find something that works?
