Okay, so my Mom wanted to buy new jeans for my Christmas present. That's awesome, right? WRONG. 7 hours. SEVEN HOURS. We shopped for seven hours and could not find anything that I liked ( Read more... )

i personally like higher waist jeans. Lane Bryant jeans have gone through another incarnation and are crap in my opinion. NOT ALL FATS WANT TO WEAR STRETCH PANTS! /end rant

I'm into the rockstar jeans from Old Navy. It's annoying you have to order them online but I'm very similar to your shape. All belly no butt. They fit me really well.

Lane Bryant makes me looks like I've crapped my pants, so they are obviously not my top choice of clothing store! My mom convinced me to go to Macy's today, where I found 2 pair of their brand jeans (The Macy's brand-Can't remember it now) and one pair of Levi's, plus some slacks and khakis too. I am not sure if we got lucky, or if we stumbled across the fats goldmine, but I loved each and every pair (except the 18 that was marked 26 that I tried to try on that was a huge hit to my ego until I saw the size, lmao), and actually had to choose some to put back.

We found an amazing pair of black slacks and this gorgeous black and white (almost varigated, I guess?) sweater for me to wear to my boyfriend's company's Christmas party this year :D

I know you are wary of ordering online, but I too am an all belly, minimal butt girl and I have had fantastic luck with the pants and jeans on alloy.com. My favorite jeans are Piper's Closet. It's junior's sizing. I usually wear a 22 in women's sizing, ordered 25s from Alloy. They're perfect, they hug my middle and my butt, without squeezing uncomfortably. I've had them for a little more than a year and they've held up great. Plus, they have 5 different inseams, up to 37".

I just got lucky today I guess. 3 pair of jeans + 2 pair of other pants at Macy's today, all for right under $200 :D

I just won't start buying things that I cannot try on unless it is my LAST option. I was a 22 in some things, and a 24 in some things, and a 20 in some things...and when I bought bras, I was a 38DDD in some, and a 40DD in some, and a 42DD in one as well. I think sizing depends on brands, and I just don't wanna buy something and have to pay postage to return it if I buy a 22 and I need a 24, etc, ya know? But, like I said, I got lucky today!

Like it or not, online shopping is one of the best resources for plus sizes, especially if you're hard to fit, so of course people were going to encourage you to try it. No need to get hostile, we're all trying to help here. There are many stores that will allow you to do online returns in-store, free, and many other stores that have free return shipping. I have to say that ordering online and returning seems like much less of a hassle than an entire day of frustration in stores, but YMMV.

I've had luck in the JCPenney plus size section. They have a good selection of different cuts, so that might be an option the next time you need to shop. Trendy and cute too.

Also my Forever 21 plus-size jeggings are roomy in the front and narrower in the back. I bought them in-store.

I didn't mean it to be hostile. I'm just pointing out what is helpful, and what seems to be commenting just to be commenting, in the knowledge that the comment isn't going to be helpful if you read the entry in full. I guess I thought originally that posting "I'd rather not shop online" was going to keep people from encouraging online shopping, and when that obviously slid under the radar, I felt I needed to be more firm about it.

I don't think I live near a Forever 21. I may have to check and see if I ever end up near one. And our JC Penny doesn't have much of a plus size section-But it is a fantabulous place for me to buy bras! Not sure why they carry "big girl bras", but not "big girl pants" though. I mean, my bra size is a 40DDD, so OBVIOUSLY, I'm not a small chica, ya know? But even their panties don't go above an XL :(

Yes, I was making sure someone had suggested these. I prefer a straight-leg but recently ordered a pair of each and I love them.

Oh, and I was able to go down a size, so you could very likely fit in the 24s.

My personal experience with Levi's is that they don't go past a 24, and it's a very small 24.

Your shape is similar to mine, if you look you will see a recent thread on my search for jeans. I ended up with the ON rockstar, which sadly had to be ordered online. The upside is that they don't take very long to arrive, and you can return them to the store if they don't fit. Also: inexpensive, and currently on sale.

The Avenue's stretchy jean (whatever they are calling it this year) generally fits my body shape well if you are fond of their current leg styles in the stores.

The Macy's style some people suggested on the other thread might work for you as well.

The 24 that I bought today is actually a teeny bit large on me, which is perfect because I know they will draw up in the wash :)

my partner is very similarly shaped and wears the bootcut sweetheart jeans from Old Navy! She has muscular calves so skinny jeans look weird. She has very little in the backend area, and not much hips, so she stays away from the Diva cut. hope this helps!

My Old Navy doesn't carry sizes above 20 :(

They do - online. Many stores do this; plus sizes online only. Old Navy carries up to a 30.

Online is the final frontier for me. I'd rather drive to Timbuktu than buy clothes online and have to return them :(

I have to KNOW BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT that my clothing size has exceeded every place near me before shopping online becomes and option-and even then, I think I'd be grumpy about it! LOL!
