Hey, fellow fats. I'm heading to Austin for 5 days, and I'm wondering if there's any good fatshion shopping there? I'd love your recommendations! I did a search, but didn't come up with much. Thanks!

what's your style, what's your size-ish?

24-26, and I only wear skirts & dresses. I've already found out about Venus Envy and Savannahred, which seems like that might be it for non- chain store options?

if you favor a darker aesthetic, there's Secret Oktober (the selection is hit or miss b/c a lot of it is local commission pieces, but the owner is plus size and there's usually a few things she chose for her personal aesthetic. I find the quality of some of the pieces... questionable).

Blue Velvet is vintage clothing and is the most likely place to find vintage plus in Austin (as it is actual vintage, selection is hit or miss. i've actually found plus size floofy petticoats here).

Savannahred (also hit or miss) remakes pieces and customs, and has from burlesque to bridal (i've not been here personally, as I do my own custom clothes).

Venus Envy has a plus size consignment section (I've not been here personally b/c they were closed the times i've tried to go!).

Teddies for Betties has a plus size lingerie selection (I've not been here personally, as I make my own lingerie b/c I'm a difficult size).

The Dillard's at the Barton Creek Square Mall (or however it's called) is a magical shopping place. They have one of the largest, best stocked plus departments I've ever seen, and I live in Chicago now. The Nordstrom in that mall is also ok, and they also have a lot of the sort of regular contenders. But, it's worth the detour just for that Dillard's.

Oooh, we don't have Dillard's in the Northwest! Thanks!

that must have changed since the last time I stepped foot in there some 4 yrs ago. I went looking for a suit and was informed I needed to go to the Dillard's at Highland Mall, as they had a more "ethnic" clientele and most of their plus clothing was there. (this was the same time they made the news for similar comments to other people)
