Looking for longer exercise capris

Mar 30, 2012 17:34

I'm looking for capri pants to wear while exercising. I need them to be long because I don't like to expose my legs (not comfortable showing off the stretch marks on my calves). Also, I'm 5'10, so what might be long on a shorter person won't be long on me. I wear about an 18 regular or an 18W (depending on who makes it). Anyone have some

Old Navy Capris were pretty long on me (pretty much regular pants). I'm short (5'2") but I could wear the capris as regular pants. Those might be worth taking a look at.

I'll second this. I've got two pairs of their activewear capris, and they are pretty long. They also run large, so you might order a size down.

Also might be worth getting regular exercise pants and then hemming them up to the length you want.

This is what I was going to suggest.

Petite "regular length" works out to long capris for us taller gals.

Why not just wear regular yoga pants?

Agreed. I feel really snarky but I don't get it....?

Yoga pants suck if you're doing a stair stepper or bike, because the ends can get caught.

I like Champion's stuff, which I tried on and bought at our local Target. (I'm a size 22 and the XL are big enough for me.) The website has them in a fairly large array of lengths - if you search for "Champion capris" at Target.com you'll get stuff ranging from knee-length to calf-length, fitted and non-fitted, mesh and non-mesh, etc. I have a bunch of pairs at different lengths - I bought them for exercising, but now I wear the bike shorts under skirts to prevent chub rub, and the calf-length when I'm wearing summer dresses in semi-cold weather. I have and like these, for instance, but you might want to nose around on the styles depending on exactly what you're looking for.

I agree with this rec. I went through several brands trying to find workout pants for my pilates class. Champions are the only brand I found that fits and has the right amount of give. Old navy's pants in store felt "okay", but when I ordered them on, they felt cheap and flimsy. I only buy Champions now.
