I'm sorry I can't offer any particular advice (I did go to an amusement park recently and was juuuust barely able to squeeze into all the rides I went on, and I'm a 24 usually, but I'm sure that doesn't help since it wasn't a Six Flags)... but I couldn't resist commenting to say that your high school experience sounds... TERRIFYING. o.O
I'm trying to remain optimistic about the whole thing, so any encouragement is helpful. and yes it was terrifying to say the least, I just screamed and tried not to vomit. and honestly it would have been a really stupid way to die since I should have just gotten off the ride when I found out the seat belt wouldn't buckle. guh! stupid pride.
I'm about the same measurements as you, if I remember correctly, (this is about two years ago now), there were a few rides I couldn't fit on. It was crazy embarrassing, since it was prime time on a Saturday and they weren't super sensitive about the situation but I'll try to give you a heads up on rides you may want to avoid
( ... )
Omg you poor thing. I can't offer any advice as I've never been to a US amusement park, but that earlier experience sounds absolutely horrifiying and you must be seriously brave :)
I agree with the above assessment about the Scream Machine and the Mine Train. The last time I went I was hovering between 16-18 and had issues with those and the Ninja, on the Ninja my boobs always got squeezed up in the middle of the harness. I think that I may have had a tight squeeze on the Mind Bender, because it has the same old school seats as the Scream Macine. The Cyclone is also an old wooden coaster, but the seats on it aren't as snug, but I carry my weight in the front, not my hips. I didn't have any issues on the Scorcher, Batman, Superman, Goliath or Acrophobia (but we did get stuck on Acrophobia in the air for 45 minutes during Fright Fest once.)
