Corset advice for the fat? Also Cacique bra review

Apr 29, 2011 18:09

I'm aware there are several corsetry communities here (a few I lurk on), but I was a bit afraid to post there asking about them for fats since most of them involve waist training and size reduction. I wasn't sure how that would be taken or if fat shaming would occur and I felt safer asking here first.

Does anyone here wear steel boned corsets regularly, or have some from a brand they can recommend? Are they uncomfortable for those with a larger tummy while your waist is compressed? I'm looking in to getting one. I love the look but I do not want to reduce my waist other than when wearing the corset. I do have a bad back and have read that they can help improve your posture too. I'm looking for a modestly priced one to start, if I find that I enjoy wearing it I'll shell out the money for a custom made piece later on. Right now I just want something to test it out. I've so far been looking at ones from Timeless Trends , Orchard Corset, and Corsets UK. My budget is under $150, I have a natural waist of 42-43" so the 38" size corset should fit me. I definitely want an under bust to start. Any input appreciated!

Also, I posted here asking about recommendations for a wireless bra. I ended up going with the lace wireless from Cacique in a few different sizes and picked it up from the store today. Once I found the right size it fit great and is very supportive so I highly recommend it to anyone fed up with under wires.
