Hmm well I'd say that the only thing I've have problem with is lack of stretch in the dresses. Most of the time they will say "light stretch" or look for what the type of fabric that they list. Because for me I have a few dresses that are true to fit, but make me feel slightly sausage-y.

As far as washing, I only hand wash my dresses. They are nice quality and I do fear shrinkage or damage from washing machines. I actually hand wash most of my dresses, Eshakti or otherwise just because I want them to last a long time. I have yet to machine any of my many Eshakti dresses so I can't really be of help in that department I'm afraid.

I think though that it depends of the type of fabric. Something that' 100% cotton is probably going to shrink. Or something lacy or with eyelets may tear easily. Probably anything with more stretch would do the best in the machine.

I also hand wash, not so much in fear of shrinkage (in fact I just got one I'm planning on washing to TRY to shrink) but more in fear of damage. It's not that they aren't well made, but I'd rather be safe.

Agree with above + note that cotton means wrinkling. It's one of the things I hate about my EShakti dresses. So much ironing :(.

None of them shrank - I machine washed them cold - but they do wrinkle and I also think their cotton fabric (except the "cotton satin", which I haven't seen on their site lately) is kind of stiff and doesn't drape well. It's more like quilt fabric than fabric intended for clothing. I found it disappointing.

Agree with everything above.

Also, in my experience customer service was horrible.

Agreed. I mailed a return back at the end of December and it took a month to receive a credit, instead of a refund, AFTER they confirmed receipt of my return.

I've machine washed all of the cotton dresses I've gotten from them with no problem. I use cold wash, with the gentle cycle, but I do that for all my clothes. Hang to dry, not the dryer. I will say that my eshakti dresses wrinkle like nothing else I've ever owned before. I have plenty of cotton stuff, but these wrinkle worse than any of it. I don' t know why they're different like that but they are.
