Today I'm wearing another
thrifty outfit.
Sweater:
Junonia via the
Fat Girl Flea:
I grabbed this sweater to show it to a friend I was shopping with and fell in love with its Monet-ish watercolor design and its incredible softness.
Skirt:
Lane Bryant via
kimdog (thank you!) right here on Fatshionista:
I've been wanting a longer denim skirt, but everything either feels too bulge-y at the belly or gape-y at the waist or heavy around the legs. This skirt, which I had my fingers crossed for so hard that I lost circulation, fits me exactly the way I want it to, so expect to see it featured in future Everyday Outfit posts frequently!
Lane Bryant knee-high trouser socks and
Natural Sport maryjanes:
I never wore knee-highs with skirts before (except when I was doing the Little Girl In A Plaid Skirt thang). I think I equated it with the housedress+knee-high nylons look one of my childhood friend's grandmother sported. But when I'd see someone out and about flashing a bit of skin above a fun sock, I'd think, "Oh, cool! But, poo, I'll never be able to pull that off." Now, with Fatshionista-energy buoying me up, I feel like I'm 1) surfing a fun fashion wave and 2) "getting away" with a silly little sock-y secret every time I wear socks with a long skirt.
I feel very comfortable and low-key stylish in this outfit today.
I have my hair in pigtails, I have my lipstick on, and I'm wearing a heart necklace given to me as part of a Secret Santa Christmas present by an actor friend thirteen years ago. All in all, YAY RAH!
