Wig Help!

Hey everyone! I haven't posted or commented on here in a millions years, but I am interested in wearing wigs more. I've noticed that every time i try an grow my hair out, I cut it off, then want to grow it out again. So, instead of doing that, I am considering doing wigs for the simple reason of being able to change my hair whenever I want.

Now, my questions are:
1. What are the wig basics?
     -What care is involved?
     -What Kinds of wigs are best?
     -What essentials do I need?

2. Where do you all shop for wigs? What kinds should I be looking for?

Also, I'm concerned about the fact that I may have a large head. I'm not sure, but it doesn't fit in some hats very well. Will that cause problems?
