A mini freakout

I'm sure many of you are probably tired of hearing of the Kevin Smith/Southwest saga, but the whole drama has me seriously freaked out. I'm flying in April and May (American and Delta respectively) and while I never gave one single thought about fitting into the airplane seats while booking, I now can't get it off my mind. I've flown Southwest probably about 50 times, mostly with my son and/or partner. I used to fly Oakland/Ontario,Calif every month for a couple years. I need an extender on some of the flights and I've still never had anyone mention to me anything about buying a second seat. I once had a flight attendent (male) ask me if I could put my arm rests down, it was prbably the same jerk who made that comment to Kevin Smith (I listened to the podcast). My family also flies to Puerto Vallarta every year and I have used Mexicana and a couple other smaller airlines and again, the same thing. I usually need a seatbelt extender, I am 5' 8" 350ish. I have no problem fitting in seats or putting arm rests down, I just have a belly.

I really wouldn't worry too much, I am much bigger than you and see many large people in flights...including on Southwest. I never liked Southwest but as a single mom, it was my only option because for a while I had to fly my son up to the bay area every month to see his dad. I am outraged at what they did to Kevin Smith and I think their policy sucks. But you look like you're quite a bit smaller than me, so I have a good feeling it wont be an issue at all. Have a safe trip!
