funny story

so i am gearing up to see tegan and sara tonight in boston, but i had to work a shift at the library this morning... i decided i'd wear what i'm wearing to the show later (sorry i don't have a pic yet). it's a vintage seafoam green dress i bought in a fats post, with faith21 denim leggings, a vintage yellow cardi, and pink cowboy boots. kind of ridiculous, but that's how i roll. anyway...

an older man came in to pick up some books, and he looked at me and said, "you sure dress pretty for a fat girl." i don't think he meant to be mean, i think his frame of reference is just different. so i didn't take offensively, and i said, "i would dress pretty if i was thin, too!" and we laughed and he said he didn't know how to say it, but he was glad when "fuller-figured women" get creative with what they wear. i almost told him about the fatshionista community, but figured he was just in to get his books on WWII aircraft and not a HAES lecture. :-)

funny, right? it's like he's an unknowing size positivity activist... anyway, if you see me at the concert, come say hello! i'll be there with jumbledlaughter . :-) wicked excited!!
