Just wanted to give you ladies a heads up - LB will be discontinuing their F, G, and H sizes in everything but the lace full coverage, I believe. LB employees correct me if I'm wrong, but it's definitely being discontinued in the balconette. at least, this is what I overheard a store manager telling a customer ( Read more... )

The bra fitter said the same thing, and I said, "Have you made sure to mention this to Corporate?" And I went home and wrote a letter. I mentioned how nice she had been, how happy I was with the store, and how very badly I wanted to buy bras that fit me better. I'll write another one now that I hear of the bra line switch-over, and I'll certainly make a post about this over on bustingout and encourage them to write as well.

I need the opposite of bra extenders. :) I know they don't work for everyone, but they seem like they'd be way easier than trying to alter bras. Both have the problem that the resulting Frankenbra is tailored to a non-human shape-- straps too far apart or unevenly close together, band not properly tapered, etc.-- but a workaround is a workaround.

I used to, and still do actually, have a policy that I never buy a bra that doesn't at least plausibly fit at full price. This isn't out of frugality, it's about my desire to avoid supporting companies that don't acknowledge I exist. But of course, my lack of options means that I can only buy bras that don't fit. So I wait for sales. (Admittedly, it's also partly because I can't bear the thought of cutting up something I paid full price for. If I do it and bollix it up, at least I can console myself that it was on sale anyway.)
But the converse, of course, is that I need to point out what I'm doing to the manufacturers, if I want there to be any change.

i totally understand that policy. and it's my personal opinion that lb is missing out on a large market (of above 44 AND below 36s) that would LOVE the quality of cacique bras and the value (i think i've worked here for so long, its completely crazy to me that a bra can cost over 50 dollars and i don't see the point). i see so much potential there. we have our venues to voice opinions, don't get me wrong, and trust me, we do voice them. but as with anything, hitting from both sides usually gets a bigger response, since consumers as a whole are the ones ultimately buying the product and wearing it. i just hope i'm helping ease the communication gap right now, because i realize sometimes there is a disconnect. :)
