Hello fats!
My belly has finally sized me out of LB's right fit pants, which were my last hope. So IMAGINE my incredible glee at finding this site:
Make Your Own Jeans You provide your measurements and with them they will make jeans, suits, jackets, twill pants, wool trousers, denim skirts, button-up shirts, and so on. A pair of jeans runs about $50, which is similar to what ill-fitting Lane Bryant pants would cost me.
Ethics issue: the cutting and sewing is done in India. This is like a recent post I saw, I can't remember where, in which a fatshionista said someone should set up a business exactly like this and make a bajillion dollars. For my part, I am weak and cheap, and other clothing I bought would probably be from bad conditions too -- at least this stuff would fit.
Beyond the requisite pair of dark blue jeans, I have my eyes on the wool trousers, red (!) jeans, and chinos/twill pants.
This is particularly great for the female fats among us who present as more masculine -- if you have a decidedly female bust or waist-to-hip ratio, it won't be an obstacle here. I have a real thing for menswear, so I'm glad I won't have to screw around to get a dandy-style jacket or suit.
Is this common knowledge in the fatosphere? Does anyone have any experience with them?
