OOT Shopping Spree - and debut of the Feathered Fatshionista

Dec 14, 2008 22:33

I've been recovering from dental surgery all week and am finally feeling better. To celebrate, I left the house for the first time in four days and hit the mall, where the sales were crazy.

(Following a discussion about anonymous posts that I initiated a few days ago, I'm wearing my fun new mask.)

Here's what I bought: )

The mask, is fabulous, haha. I absolutely love the belted cardigan look on you! And holy shit, you're 4'10?! You dress your body phenomenally because your legs look about a million miles long in every outfit ^_^.

Thanks! I went to a What Not To Wear fashion show with Clinton Kelly at Macy's a few weeks ago and one of the models was rocking the belted cardi look with a hot pink T under a zebra print cardi and I loved it! I like to only fasten the middle buttons and leave the top and bottom open or to simply wrapp one side over the other.

ok, question for you as a petite woman who is able to make herself look a million feet tall....my mom is 4'10" as well so I'm asking for her (not like I'm much taller, 5'2")...what length of skirt do you feel flatters you best?

The most flattering length for me is at the middle of the knee so that you can see where the top of my calf begins to curve.

The most valuable tip I can pass on to other petite women is to make sure that your tops don't hit you lower than your crotch - that really lengthens the leg line. I often have to get tops cut and hemmed but find that it's really worth the trouble because the proportion looks so much better.

And another thing: be sure that your pants are long enough! I like to wear mine about a half-inch to 1 inch off the ground when I'm in shoes, so I have some of my jeans hemmed to wear with flats, some for higher shoes.

Love the mask. Seriously.

I think my favorites are the third and fourth outfits, with that same gold cardigan. They both just look classy but so cool-- and, bonus, they look awesome with the mask! Ha ha.

And I gotta agree with the folks above, you look a lot taller than 4'10 in these shots, there's no way I would've guessed anything close to that height if you hadn't listed it.
