This post is rather less fun than OOTD posts, but I am in need of advice.

1) I am flying home to visit my family for Thanksgiving, and then again for Christmas. My Thanksgiving itinerary is okay--it's a short flight (1 hour), I have aisle seats in both directions, and I flew on the same airline over the summer and fit in the seat and seat belt, if a little uncomfortably. However, I was rushed when buying my tickets for the Christmas trip and on one of the flights I ended up with a *gasp* middle seat. I am flying by myself, so I will not have the option of crowding a sympathetic companion, and the plane is totally full. I can change the reservation for $70 and get a first class seat (or a coach seat on a different flight). After that winding preamble, my question for my fellow fatties is: should I change my reservation or just deal with an hour of brushing hips and shoulders with two strangers? What would you do in my situation? I am 5'11", bottom-heavy size 24, and the airline is Alaska.

2) Happy haircut photos:

I really like the side view. I feel pretty brave for chopping off my hair. I've always felt like I needed giant fluffy hair to balance out my big squashy body, but the wash-scrunch-go maintenance of this shorter cut is great. (I'm lazy.) Styling suggestions, anyone? When I don't want to have wee curlies in my face I pull the front bits straight back and affix them to the top of my head with bobby pins, but I would like to try something more exciting. Anyone out there with short curly hair?
