Since it’s still a thousand fucking degrees here, I decided to try on new clothes that I’m looking forward to wearing this fall.
Camilla wraparound dress in Plum from Igigi (14/16)
Shoes: Softspots Star via Zappos (12W)

Dress: Suzi Chin Maggy Boutique via Nordstrom rack (16W)
Thaumatropic bird necklace: Adorapop on Etsy. Here’s a video of it in motion:

Secret agent sunglasses: Michael Kors via Nordstrom Rack
Green lace cocktail dress from Igigi (14/16) - comes with a lace shrug (not shown)
http://www.igigi.com/shop/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.displayalt&Product_ID=422&searchText=laceA warning to anyone contemplating this dress: I'm not crazy about the length, and it looks like it's impossible to hem without losing the lace trim on the bottom. I'm 5'10, all leg, and usually Igigi dresses are on the short side on me, but this is below the knee.
A not-great picture of my new favorite skirt
My first pencil skirt: Lane Bryant (18). The back is beautiful, but there was no one around to take a picture for me.
Purple cashmere v-neck: Lands End (XL)
Burgundy Me Too “Frost” pumps from Nordstrom (13M) -- they were recently half off:

It arrived four days before that whiney pain in the ass Kenley from Project Runway wore hers and ruined it for me. Just my luck.
And this is what I wore to this evening’s hair cut appointment: my new Jane Bonbon dress (size: me).
Here’s my hair right before (you can see the top of the Jane Bonbon dress better here):
And here it is after (though it won’t look like that ever again - my stylist puts a lot of effort into blowing it out, but I am strictly wash-and-wear):
Despite the face-melting heat, I tried my new Bare Escentuals foundation (thanks to all who chimed in with advice about it - I think it’s working okay for me so far) and MAC eye makeup. I am head-to-toe new for Fall!
