Hi people!

I did some shopping therapy a couple of days ago. I thought I would post something I was really happy with, and another thing I would like some advice on.

I think the shirt is cute and the inverted V (perhaps I should call it a caret ^) I think is flattering. I think your tummy looks cute, but if you are self conscious a trick I have learned for belly poke minimizing is to pull the waist band of my pants or skirt up just a couple inches higher, or to wear high waisted underwear that comes higher than my waistband.

Thanks! I like the way the "carat" turns into a tie in the back.

I agree-I think the poking-belly trouble is not in the shirt-it's in the waistband of the skirt. Something looser or higher might smooth out the line.

(Responding to your post, but addressing all the "Is the waist making it poke out like that?" suggestions ( ... )

My belly does the same thing, and I used to think it was because of my tight pants too! Yay, other people with the same funny tummy!

I love the second outfit, and think it's very flattering! But I also think poky-outy bellies are super cute. So my opinion is probably biased. The important thing is whether YOU feel comfortable in it - if not, it's not worth keeping.

I seriously want that top. I may hit Macy's today, in fact.

If I saw you walking down the street I would think "Totatlly cute! and Bold!"

The hem of that skirt is great, but I'm thinking the only thing I could say that might make it even better is to team the top with a tapered skirt or A line skirt or jeans, and the waistband advice is good, if you are comfortable with that. I usually do the pulling up/down depending to avoid the little belly thing, but you look yummy, either way.

I bought two of these skirts on clearance, so to make this one different than the other, I frayed the hem...

I think you are right that this isn't the skirt for this shirt, though.

Thanks for the compliments :)

I like the striped shirt on you.

It looks like the skirt's waistline is trying to "shape" you. How about wearing it with a different skirt or a pair of pants?
